My dealer said that on our new E500 you need to slam down with some preasure to get the rear trunk to close. This seems like an odd feature for a car with options over $60k. Does everyone else have the same deal.
Aside from that, we took delivery on the car last month and are really enjoying it. It is really my wifes car however I enjoy slipping in a ride now and then. My daily driver is an 01 CLK 430 cab, the trunk on it though does'nt require near the force to close. It also seems to have more get up and go than the E. However really do like that E.

Prolly
Ya prolly need the force to counteract the tension under which the trunk lid sits and waits coiled like a cobra. (My science teacher called that kinetic energy once, I think). Press the button to open the trunk, and you could fling waterballoons across the street, lol!

yea i think your right, and also, we have zaino on the car, so i love to feel the smoothness but try not to, so when we close the trunk, we grab the handle that is there andclose it like that, but it seems kinda dangerous, and is harder to close that way than just pressing on the paint and pushing it down
