E500 sports pack with AMG kit
dont have one, but I'd think it might be nice... depending on how long it takes for the darn thing to heat up... I have the wood steering wheel, and i gotta tell it, they can get pretty cold for these winter mornings

Although not shown when entering a specific e350 or e550 VIN, these two heated steering wheels come up in EPC for the e550 worldwide. May be worth your while to check with your local MB dealer parts dept.: Heated steering wheel part # A211 460 50 03, and A219 460 17 03 (CLS however same design).

The wood part is not heated, only the leather wrapped part of the wheel.

I have it along with the heated seats, it heats immediately within seconds and brings the entire (leather) steering to a warm temperature, unlike the seats there is only 1 setting and it never gets overly hot (i'm sure a safety design) Its nice to have if the car is parked outside overnight along with the heated seats.

stated it will only work if you have the heated seat package. Thanks for the MB numbers it worked well, but at $2k for a wheel... never mind

2003 E320
I have a 2003 E320 that has heated seats and a heated wood steering wheel. As stated, the leather portion of the wheel is the only thing heated. In 2003, it was part of some package that my car has. There is also a bunch of electronics to go with it. The outside temperature must be below a certain temperature for steering wheel heating to work. It turns on at max temperature at first and then reduces the temperature after so many minutes. Thermostats in the wheel itself turn the heating on and off during the heating cycle. Very complicated.

I know a little more than most because when my car was delivered, the heated steering wheel would not heat when the temperature was below about 32 degrees. One of the control modules was bad but it took a lot of troubleshooting to figure it out.

In all, it is great when it works but really complicated in operation. I am not sure it is worth the cost but then again, I live in New Mexico, not one of the really cold places.

I love the heated steering wheel, and am disappointed its not standard with the premium package. (Its standard on my Maxima - I use it more than the heated seats).

I really miss my heated steering wheel on my BMW 7 series... and you guys are telling me I could get one on my new E-Class that is hit the dock today and I may get my Friday or Monday?

Two grand? That is a bit much. Are you sure it's that expensive?

replacement wheel is shy under $2k, seen it on the screen at my friends work (MB) with the part number provided by konigstiger (thanks again) but only works if you have the heated seats.

And yeah the BMW 7's first thing i would do when i got in was hit the button on the wheel... though the wheel looked like like crap because you can see the heating element under the leather, and the way it was wound.

For W211s in North America, this was only offered as part of a package on the 2003 model. Subsequent model years were decontented somewhat, including this very desirable feature.

Right now you need to go to the S-class sedan where it is a stand-alone $460 option.

My 2004 E500 4matic has a heated steering wheel, it's a great option. My wife is buying an 08 ML350 and the heated steering wheel is still an option, part of the "heating package" with that model. But the dealer said the heated steering wheel is no longer an option with the E Class. The replacement steering wheel seems to be the only way to go if you are looking for this function. IMHO Too bad MB decided to eliminate the heated steering wheel as an option with the E Class, you don't know how nice it is till you've had one, especially in New England in winter!

Definately a great option, but wo grand seems a bit high though. You may want to try contacting Steve @ MBenzNL, as he maybe able to give you a much better pricing.
