Motorweek tested the E500 and said 5.7 0-60 and 14.1 @ 102 mph in the quarter.

hmmmm, does that mean the CLK500 is faster than 5.7 seconds? The CLK weights in at 3,585 LBS and the E at 3,815...a 230 pound difference. A 5.9 for the E500 seems more reasonable if the CLK figures are accurate. However, the CLk's figures may be lower than 5.7 (maybe 5.5-5.6) if in fact the E500 is 5.7. There has to be a difference though because 230 lbs is quite a bit. For reference, from the MBUSA site:

SL500 - 4,045 LBS 6.1 secs
CL500 - 4,070 LBS 6.1 secs
S500 - 4,170 LBS 6.1 secs
E500 - 3,815 LBS TBA
CLK500 - 3,585 LBS 5.7 secs

I tend to think MB doesn't want people to think there are differences in the SL, CL, & S. The S may be slightly slower. One note however, there are many other factors in the 0-60 time, such as the drag coeff. that I have not taken into consideration. Just using the weight though, it would seem the CLK should be about a half second faster than the SL, CL, & S...and the E about 1/4 second faster than the SL, CL & S.

yea the cg makes a big difference, but i still think that the clk is faster, because 230 lbs is a lot

100 Kg or 220 lbs = 3/10 sec over the 1/4 mile

2005 E500 RWD
05E500

Keep in mind the times you see might be for 4Matic and some for RWD, 4matic also has a 5-speed while rwd 7-speed. and the 200lbs weight might increase traction for the rwd so times vary.
I have an 05 E500 RWD 7-G and after multiple runs I average 5.8s 0-60 , fastest I managed was 5.7 but it all depends on temp, sea level, tires, how clean the air filters are, etc.
If you buy or have a E500 though expect 5.7 to 6s 0-60 times. I prefer to focus more on the quarter mile times when looking at cars performance. I seen E500 run 13.6 to 14.2
Usually 13.8 or lower if its brand new or has modified exhaust
