Using OEM parts is often the same as saving money but on the other forum an owner was of the opinion that MB OEM blades weren't particularly good.
I asked the dealer to replace the wipers on my 2006 E500 when the car was about a year old and in for its first service. I did not ask cost. Charge was $80. Won't happen again. IMO OEM wipers are terrible.

I actually did realise it after posting. I was about to say "an expert" instead of "an owner".

Thanks, but "an owner" is the correct choice -- I don't consider myself an expert on anything, and prefer to know a little about many things -- I can always ask an expert when needed.

Wiper blade end caps - part number?

I was washing my car Saturday and noticed my driver side blade, lower end cap is missing. So, the rubber blade can slide up and down the arm. It looks like it would not fly off completely. But, you never know, and I don't want to be the one to find out. So, how to get a replacement end cap...

1) When you buy new blades, do you get caps with them?
2) Does anyone know the part number, if these caps are purchased separately.

Thanks in advance. ,
Jim

Just replaced wipers on my 2005 e500 4Matic with ANCO 26" wiper blades. Just remove the actual blade from the arm. Removed the metal stripes and replace the one on your OEM arm. Took about 15 minutes for both of them. Only $5.97ea at Walmart....
