RE: Zaino for Osbidian Black

What steps have people done when using Zaino on Osbidian Black.

1. Wash with Dawn

2. Z-18 Clay using Z-7 as lubricant

3. Z-1 of ZFX accelerator ?

4. Alternate coats of Z-2 and Z-5 (always finish with Z-2, do you also finish with Z-6?)

6. Z-6 between coats.

Are these the proper steps?

How long between coats?

hey man, i have 03 e500 with obsidian black, and ill be glad to help you.....i dont know if u have done zaino before, but if not......your gonna need zfx, it is 10 more dollars than z-1, but much more worth it...also, you can use z-5, or z-2, i use z-2. then your gonna need z-6, which you must have, and your going to need z-7, the car wash. that is all you need from zaino. then from wal-mart or an auto store like autozone, i suggest going to walmart because it is cheaper, and get megiuers foam applicators, dont use the ones from zaino, and dont use terry covered foam, only foam, if you cant get foam, then dont do zaino, it will be the hardest thing you will ever do. then go to autozone, and get clay magic blue bar. it is 10 bucks, and includes the lube, but throw away the lube, and use the clay only. to lube up the car and clay, mix 16 ounces of water, and 1/2 capfull of z-7. also, you can get interior care like window cleaner and stuff. but that is all you need to do zaino......and well almost.....your gonna need microfiber towels....i suggest going to www.microfibertech.com they have really low prices, and high quality towels....i suggest getting 10 elite microfiber towels, not ultra, only elite, and getting a 54 by 28 waffle weave towel...this is to dry your car., when you get zaino and all the towels and everything, you should wash your car with dawn, per zaino instructions....then you clay with the clay magic bar, and z-7 lube. then you need to wash the car with z-7, to get rid of all the leftover of the clay. then you need to dry with your waffle weave. and then you can start zaino per zaino instructions....on a obs black car, it is very ez to see zaino on the car, put it on per zaino instructions and you will be fine, i dont know if you have done zaino before, or if it is a new car, but if it is, the claying process will be much easier, feel free to ask me more questions, i hope this makes sense, if it doesnt, talk to alboston, hes the moderator of the detailing forum here, or justins64

ok, im gonna quote what you said, so i can remember......step one is right.....step two is right, but use the clay magic bar, it works better and is cheaper. step three, use zfx.....step 4 is your choice, ill show you some pics of my z-2 e500....it has 8 coats of it...z-5 looks more depthy, and more wet loooking, z-2 is just for reflection. and yes, z-6 between coats makes a huge difference, when i wash with z-7, and put on z-6, i can tell a difference that same minute. and if you use zfx, i would wait 20 minutes, take off the zaino with a mf towel, then z-6 with a different towel, and then do another coat or whatever....with z-1, you have to wait a whole day, so thats why i reccomend using zfx

Two questions:

1. Where do you get the Zaino supplies?

2. Do you use a buffer to polish after the zaino? If not what do you use to remove the polish and buff?

(Alboston...I do know that this is on the detailing forum, but I am lazy and thought I could get an answer here as long as the Thread was started)

Thanks for all the help.

I have never done Zaino before.

Will follow your suggestions.

Since we are in Vancouver, Canada, I am asking for a Spring delivery of about April or May.

Thanks again
