so...about 600.00 to fix the seats to fold down.

any body got a better idea?
Well the dealer gave me a better price than the service center.
The part is about 100 bucks.
I'll have someone install it and report back.

Hi, I have a 2004 E320 wagon and the same thing happened recently. I have 125,000 miles on it and never had a problem with the rear security screen. However it stopped working. It seems like many folks say it is a magnet at the end of the roll. If not is it the motor? Where is the motor and is it complicated to get to? How do you test to see if it is the motor?
Thanks. Gary

Place hand on headliner in the area of the motor and simultaneously lock and unlock tailgate lock pawl using a screwdriver. If the motor is being energized, a distinct movement can be felt. In addition to attachments, see http://workshop-manuals.com/mercedes...ar/page_21728/
