C mode saves gas?

C mode saves gas?
I notice that the S mode revs higher and gives the car more push. C mode is too slow sometimes, even when you press on the pedal. Has anyone tried total miles/gallon on S mode versus C mode?
I am getting about 300-325 miles a tank on C mode, which is really bad (for 17 gals in a tank?). I have about 2500 miles on my 08 E350. Is this normal? I do a lot of city driving!

Comfort-Mode starts the Tranny off in 2nd gear from a standstill.
Sport-Mode starts the Tranny off in 1st gear from a standstill. Also it "holds" a gear longer during acceleration. Thus increasing the rpm per shiftpoint.
Low engine rpm's are essential for the best fuel efficiency!
hope that helps you out!

When I was low on cash, I used C mode to help save gas. I had an hour commute each way to work. Instead of the regular 19-20 MPG in the city, I got 23-24.

I have not noticed any significant mpg difference between C & S on my Bluetec; perhaps its because diesels are low revving engines. I too use C for driving in town and on rainy and slippery days; other times I use S.
