Cracked drivers mirror
confused:Hey all, I'm driving into work this moring and noticed a crack in my drivers mirror. It goes from the center bottom to about 3/4 of the way up. It has not been subject to any damage or extreme heat or cold since it is always garage kept. Will this be covered under the warrantee? Any suggestions before calling the SA?

I spoke to the SA this morning. The SA manager is gonna look at it on the 20th. Ill keep everyone posted.

Since its new they may replace, i had the wood on the dash crack (laminate coating) on a previous benz that was 3 years old and they replaced with no hassle...

it is kinda common on the '07 to '08 w211's. the heating element inside the mirror can heat up too much and cause the mirror to crack a little. some service advisors call it a 'stress crack'.

Arg!!! Same thing happened to me. ~4 weeks after I got the car, it was way below freezing, and it cracked overnight. Now the anti-glare film is starting to yellow, and is just getting annoying. Was wondering if it's covered. I'll be sooo pissed if it's not.

That yellowing is from the auto dimming fluid in the mirror. Be sure not to let that fluid come into contact with the paint. MB of Devon Pa is going to pick up my car on Tuesday. I'll keep you posted.

07 E350 Driver's side mirror cracked randomly
While I was stopped at a red light today, my driver's side mirror randomly cracked. The crack goes from the middle bottom of the mirror up 2". Nothing has ever hit the mirror so what might have caused the crack. I'm going to call my dealer tomorrow so I can bring it in to get it fixed. Is this something that will be covered under warranty? The car only has 7k miles.

Hello all,
I will be picking up my car today. No charge for the cracked mirror. They called it a stresss crack. However B service seemed a little expenseve? 285.00+ tax. Did get the free loaner car though.
