Angry hid install from hell

ok so i have been through the sticky forwards and backwards so please dont tell me to search!! im working on my new used 2004 e500 wagon with factory xenons,Im trying to install hids in my foglights,Im using oem audi hella boxes,i have tried the capacitors recommended i have also tried a 50w resistor and still the lamp warning goes on and the foglights start to flash on and off every 30 secondsthis is driving me insane as i am an audi tech and havent been able to figure this out. by the way i bench tested the hids and they work flawless on a 12v jumper box.

Thats wierd, the resistor should be taking care of this issue, seems that you are still drawing to much power causing the flicker. hmmm.

not everyone in the world lives in a place where they need fog lights for adverse weather conditions or to improve visibility. never in my whole life have i ever said 'hmmm... i wish i had fog lights right now'. so if they're on the car, may as well make your car look nicer, as long as you don't aim them in a way that will blind other drivers.

This statement is confusing as I don't know your circuit. The resistor in series with load becomes a voltage divider and current limit device. The resistor in parallel lowers the overall restance which results in higher current/wattage. The capacitor in series will pass the current and voltage if it is AC and block DC. When used across the load it becomes a high/low filter and dampens out the oscillations in voltage.

So to say you prefer using a capacitor vs resistor is confusing as I don't know the application. If you have a circuit diaghram it might be helpful to see what you have. Otherwise just from the written description it sounds like you have overload causing a circuit breaker to trip, IF this is the case you have too much current and resistance in series with the load will drop the current. This resistor will also have to be sized in wattage to prevent burnout and it will get hot. Wire wound resistors usually work better in this application. So if you want more help you will have to provide the schematics or find someone who has made the same installation and previously solved the problem. I would like to help more but just don't have enough information.

Stop. take your HID kit and return it, get your money back.
Only one after market HID kit works and that comes from James at Creative he is a sponsor here. Mine work great.

I think the caps in the sticky are too small, i used larger ones and works fine. I will get in my office in the morning and look at the specs and edit this post.
