Thanks, what about the radio? Think it was an installation thing?

Sekrit is the glass manufactor, in which MB is using...Sekrit does make aftermarker windshield too. Since everyone is on this topic. I just had a rock cracked my windshield over this past week...My car is currently in the shop right now. I'll get it back sometime this week. Once I get it back, I'll let everyone know. The glass company offer me the aftermarket Sekrit windshield but I've asked them to order the OEM windshield, which also was made by Sekrit but to MB spec. According to them and I can call the dealership to confirm this if I like. But the price different between them is like $4-$6 dollars. I'll keep you guys posted.

I don't believe there is a difference in the 2 pieces of glass other than only MB (or the people THEY sell to) are supposed to handle MB branded products. So Sekrit produces the same piece of glass without the star to sell to glass companies.

The glass and its quality are the same on both pieces. Its not like store brand canned goods and name brand canned vegetables, where the store brand is usually husks and twigs and the Green Giant is great, whole product.

Theres no reason for Sekrit to create a 2nd windshield mold & a different glass formula on a relatively low volume 211 windshield, and get DOT approval on it. Usually a choice of buying "better or cheaper glass" comes from 2 different windshield glass manufacturers with more alternative glass suppliers making high volume glass, like for Mercury Grand Marquise/ Ford Taurus/ Toyota Camry types of vehicles for a quick, profitable, high volume product.

I am also inclined to concur that the glass is made to identical quality as the OEM.

But what about the radio signal; is there an antenna wire in the pillar that could be destroyed if the glass is improperly installed?

Well, I just got the car back and the OEM windshield, KIT, and gummed label(the white signature MB) and the total cost for part is: $470, $32, and $1.90. The windshield look as original as it did when the car first got off the assembly line, but with 40k on the car...
