washed and waxed

washed and waxed my car today.
have been spending a lot of time reading, in the detailing section of this forum.
some people on this board leave a lot of very useful information!
would like to say big thanks!

btw, did my trunk chrome line in flat black (badges as well)
was thinking about doing all the chrome in flat black all around the car.
what do you guys think?

Great job with the wax... The detailing section certainly has a wealth of information that can really make a big difference...

Normally I would say no to the flat-black chrome idea, but i must say that it came out nice so far... Try it and post pics...

I really like the flat black look. It looks different. I should have done that with mine. I would complete the look and black out all the chrome.

Obviously a nice job on the wax! I did my trunk star in black (e320 and Sport badges gone) and my grille in flat black/gloss black. I like what you have done, consider doing the grille next and then see if you need to do the other body chrome.

nice. since you've got that done might as well do the grill black and flat hood it.

Ride definitely looks nice! Black out that grill and replace hood emblem.

you see i had that done on my older 03 w211. and i didnt like it that much.
i like the way front looks like right now. but i dont like the chrome molding around the car.
that is why i am holding off on flat blacking the moldings, because i think it might look funny if i only leave the grill in chrome.

the star i would like to keep. it is just not the same without when you are inside of the car. if you know what i mean.

i was thinking if i am to flat black everything, i would just flat black the star as well.

what do u think?

i need to photoshop it, in my head it looks good. but, then again in real world it always comes out very different.

You could get out a roll of black electrical tape. To see what it would look like. Just dont leave it on there too long in the sun, otherwise you will have a sticky mess to clean up

I don't know how far you are from Placentia, but visit http://www.ShowCarDetailing.com

Richard Lin works on my car every quarter. He also teaches people how to take care of their cars. I think he has workshops on certain Saturdays.

He does an AMAZING job on my 08 E550 Black. I'm almost afraid to touch it after he's done working on it. Simply amazing.

The flat black looks really nice so far. Are you painting these yourself and if so, what are you using???
