No I wouldn't buy another. I already have one. What would I do with another one while I was enjoying driving or looking at the most beautiful sedan ever concieved.

My E550 is fairly new, I will probably change it for the new W212 after it has a year out and give that to the wife if she lets me get a CL.

I bought an 03' E320 in August of 2007 with 29K miles. I now have 52k miles and haven't had any major problems, just a couple of little things like the passenger headrest not working or the radio turning off while driving. But this kind of stuff doesn't fase me as long as I don't have major mechanical problems like others have posted.

Even though I have only had mine for 8 months the answer is YES. I would definitely buy another E. This is the best car I have ever owned and would probably upgrade to a E550 when the time comes.

The audio system turning off has been addressed and has been cured. Ask about it.

Thanks, I knew the problem had been addressed by MB. It has only happened two or three times in eight months and doesn't bother me that much since the radio starts to work again in just a few minutes. I was just waiting for the next time i needed to take the car in for service to get it fixed.

Yes, I would.

My first was an August 02 build w/navigation, but just was pre-wired. So I got one of the replacement Es. I think the build was June or late May (took delivery in late July). The first had issues, but not excessively so. The second had a Keyless Go issue which was resolved immediately. I did notice something different in the second car - like the first wasn't quite ready for prime time. Other than either replacing wheels for hitting curbs when I was drunk or pulling too close to curbs - I'm quite happy. Just over 58K miles.

I should mention that last week I had two business associates with me for lunch. The car just quit while driving down the street. Fortunately, I was able (barely) to pull off the street into a business parking lot. I tried numerous times to start, but to no avail. Called MB Roadside assistance, but missed keying in some response as one of my passengers was talking. Called my service advisor, and the car started while it was ringing. I told him what happened, and said I thought I could try and drive it again.

We drove on over (just a few miles) and they had a loaner waiting for me. Ultimately, there were several things wrong, all covered under the MB extended warranty (and one recall item). The issue with stopping was a crankshaft sensor, but there were a number of other things fixed. They called and said they wanted to keep the car a couple of days and go over it thoroughly.

I like the car and the dealership. I just bought by girlfriend a G37S which she loves - didn't want to look at a MB. Oh, well. I'll be looking next year!

I am currently on my third. The first two (that were officially considered E-classes) were W210 E55 AMGs and had great luck out of them. I'll be the first to admit that most are not 100% problem free, but I think the driving enjoyment and safety more than make up for it. I actually never had any problems with my W210s except for the 1999 started developing a small rust bubble around the trunk lock underneath the rubber seal, but you could not see it without lifting the seal. The second was a 2001 and I had great service with it with no issues to speak of. The third is a W211 E320 CDI and I have owned it less than a month but so far I love it.

I am sure it will not be my last.

I have owned two W123 diesels. The first was ate up with rust and the second has been great and still is. I also have a W201 190E that is a pleasure to drive.

I purchased an 06 E350 Aug 08 praying I would like it well I loved it! Dec 09 I traded it for an 09 E350. I don't like the look of the 2010 so I'm staying with the W211 style it's great

03 E320
I am a proud owner of an 2003 E320. It came with panaromic roof, wood steering wheel, auto lumbar seats. I installed 6-Cd Changer, 05 Command, Navigation, all by myself. Also got 19" AMG wheels on it.
I love it, it looks brand new and have so many comfort features that i just adore.

But on the flip side i have the following problems.
1. "I feel" the car doesnt drive smooth. I mean nothing wrong with engine or suspension or the tires but i feel something is up with transmission.
The car kinda slows down a lot when i lift my foot off the gas in 1st and 2nd gear.
I want it to just keep moving without slowing down like this. It feels like a manual car, when you lift your foot off the gas in low gears and the car slows down. Kinda like the engine brake thing.
Is that normal?
But anyway, i think i will definitely buy a E-Class mercedes if i am buying a mercedes up to 2004 models.
After 2004 then i will definitely go with CLS. (Not entirely sure when they came out with CLSs)

My E has done nothing but run for me from 22k - 65k. Outside of a heating switch valve, I'm all good and the car feels like its brand new.

I'm down for another E when the time comes.

03 E500 and Corvette
60/40 for buying another E. Ours 2003 E500 has 80,000 miles and eventhough it is well maintained and drives like a new car.......... heater valve, ignition switch, sbc failure (towed in), ignition failure, balljoints, brake replacement 3 times, suspension failure, just to mention the few I can remember.

For reliability it was almost as bad as my 1958 6 cyl ford.

My corvette I drive on the track is extremely reliable and driven very hard and also has 80,000 miles. It hasn't seen a dealer or had a failure in the last 6 years. Would I buy another corvette YES! Drives solid and reliable for $20K less.

It's interesting to read this thread. BUT: could people be sure to say what MODEL YEAR is their car, please. (I noticed a common trend going on here in this topic with certain model year.)

And in general, when anyone has a question, comment, etc; please don't forget to state the model and model year.

I've found a lot of great info on this forum; thanks, and keep up the good work

As for me, I'm a first time E350 (MY09) owner (unless my old 220S from many years ago counts.) And I only have 5k on the odometer (since October 2008.) But nothing yet except for a bit of a rattle in the dash that comes and goes, although it seems to have sorta gone away. I don't want the dealer to mess with it since in my experience they can introduce new noises by mucking with it. I think it's ambient temp related (expansion and contraction of plastic in changing weather.)

I like the car so far. Very easy to drive; I worry about falling asleep at the wheel

replaced my leased '07 E350 4matic with an '09 E350 2 wheel drive. What a difference the 7G tranny makes with this car vs the older 5 speeder. White w/Sport package, P2 with pano roof. Absolutely love the car and looking forward to driving it for the next 36 months. I'm not a fan yet of the replacement E but will wait till I see it in person. Otherwise, the current E model (W211) is still a spectacular car and can be had for a good price these days, used or new.

My current E is second one and different generation. Many features gone due cutting cost of production, however I do not see any other car which can come close, so W212 is on my list.

With all the problems that I have encountered with the 2005, 2007, and 2008E's that I've owned I doubt that I will buy another MB let alone another E. And I had all flavors E500 4Matic, E63, and E350 4Matic. Even a low line Ford product's navigation and drivers electronics surpas MB's archaic systems.

Yes, I would buy another, my 2006 E has been great, no real problems after almost 4 years, except 2 minor seat wiring connection issues. I wanted to get the new 2010 model as my replacement and I am not liking it so far, we shall see. (maybe the new E coupe, that looks promising )

HELL YES !!

I currenty own a 2003 E-320... I have been loving the thing since the first day... I had an electrical problem but the dealership took care of it and it was still under warranty (CPO). - Thank God !!!
Anyways, I am liking the 2009 E-350. Maybe when my warranty runs out - I will look to upgrade. I cant see myself driving the 2010 E-Class, it is just not me...

Funny thing is , i agree with that. It's really the '06 Quatroporte I'm after. Much better interior design, and a four seater. Fantastic car.

Just bought a 2007 E350. I've owned several BMWs before and while they clearly had better performance IMO, but the balance of luxury features, looks, and performance in the E can't be beat. I'll probably look at a 550 in a few years.

Absolutely. I love my 07Bluetec. I'll wait to see what the next Bluetec looks like. The current W212 shape does not appeal to me. I'll give my present one to my son if I get another Bluetec (when available).

I was looking at the '06 Quatroporte too. Very tough decision and came down to wanting to wait for improvements made to '08/09 models. Won't buy new, so I picked up an '06 E55 and will probably get the Mas in a couple/few years.
