The 2010 E350 Bluetec will not arrive until March 2010. Unfortunately, it will have the added complexity of the adBlue system, no spare tire and horrid Run Flat tires. According to MB Canada, the Sport Package will be standard, but no 4Matic will be offered with the Bluetec.

2003 E320
No car is perfect but, this car is very well made. I have owned Lexus (GS300) and Infiniti (G35 Sedan) prior to my 2003 E320 and as a handyman who loves to do things myself, I have to say that this car is very well made. They did not cut corners when they built this car.

I have done several things on my car (Replaced brakes, Change Audio 50 for COMAND UNIT, installed IPOD Integration, installed LED Parking Lights, Changed Grill, Installed Flat Hood Emblem, Installed Bluetooth Base and Puck, etc) and every time I work on the car I find things that I say DAMN, these people really went out of their way to pay attention to every detail when they built this car.

Like I said, no car is perfect, I have had my share of issues that I had to take the car to the dealer for service but all and all, the best built car I have ever worked on.

It Depends

I would have to see the '10 AMG model. I saw a sneak peek of the front-end of the AMG version and it looked nice. However, the rear-end of the 2010 non-AMG version reminded me of a Toyota Camry.

How true !!

When I look at the photos of the W212, I really wonder what the designer was thinking. The successor to the W211 does not have the same elegance or suave appearance. Gone are the soft curves and flowing shapes, both inside and out. Both the exterior and interior of the W212 seem to me at least to be a retrograde step in design. Perhaps the photos convey an inaccurate impression ?

What is clear to me is that the W211 is one of the most appealing sedan designs ever conceived; it still looks great in its 7th year of production.
The same cannot be said of the current BMW 5 Series; what a disaster compared to its predecessor. Consider also the new Acura TL - what an ugly beast.

These examples are proof that the next generation is not always an advance in design over the former.

Yes, but

So far the pics of the W212 have been ..unappealing.
Maybe the W213? Or just drive this 1 until I can get an E63.

I bought my car in 2003 and have just over 20,000 miles on it. I love my car, and I expect to have it a very long time! I had my last Mercedes (1985 380SE) 17 years--until I turned 100,000 miles. I wouldn't hesitate to buy an E Class again.

Had a '77 280E, '89 300E (140K), '91 300CE (75K), 95 E320 Wagon, 2000 E320, and my current 2002 E320W4 (69K). Of those six E-Class vehicles, I still own three of them (89, 91 & 02). Would I buy another? MOST CERTAINLY - especially since they are bringing back the coupe!

The new E is not a good looking car compared to my 2003 E, so buying another E is out of the question. Now that Jag is much more reliable than before, so currently I am leaning toward Jag.

I'm very pleased with mine, but it depends on what I'm gonna have to pay for the next E-class, it's all about price, fuel economy, luxury, space and horsepower - the best combination is the one I'm gonna get

After seeing the W212 E-class in person, I'd seriously consider getting another one to replace my W211.

But then again, I also believe variety is the spice of life so I'm considering other options when my lease ends next year, among them the Jaguar XF/XF-R, Range Rover/RR Sport, or a Cayenne GTS - or even the CLS or S-class if I stick with MB.

If I do get another E-class, I'd consider getting the E550 with the Sports Pkg, the NY Auto Show had one on showcase and it looked good IMHO, except I wouldn't get it in white.

Still have 2003 model and although it has some issues early, they were all fixed during warranty. W212 is not to my liking, so will keep driving my current car.

2003 E-class 320
It nice to get some feedback on the E-class MB .I just brought one a month ago 2003 E320 with 41thousand miles. I heard good and bad things about this model car. I love the car. I pray that my E-want give me any major problems. Any answer of what to do to have long life on this model car?

I've had my '07 E550 for about a year and a half and I absolutely love it, and would definitely get another. I haven't loved a car this much since my Porsche 928S4 which was my previous favorite in the mid-90s. I'm not a huge fan of the new E class body style, and I actually prefer the design of the new C class better than the new E so I think I'd actually go C class over an E class if I were getting '10 or newer.

I like mine, but there's been too many creaking/rattling problems with the pano roof and my damn trunk closer acts up all the time. I just don't feel this car is nearly as "quality" as my previous 126s. The only reason I even considered this model was it was the only good diesel engined sedan out there at the time. I'll definitely be open to different brands/makes in the future.

I bought my E500 in November 2002, first year model. I had nothing but repairs for the first two years of ownership. You name it, I had repair done! I have a file of over 1/2 inch thick of repair receipts. On top of that, the dealer, Millenium in NJ, had a terrible repair shop and the worst service manager, Joe. Millenium had since sold it to Open Road, but Joe is still there.

Ray Catena in Edison, NJ is not much better. Last year I took my car in for maintenace work. Got a call from the shop and told me I needed new bushings for the tie rods for $1500!!! Showed me the tire with the strange wear I have never seen. Being better informed than most of their customers, I told them not to touch the bushings. After contacting Tire Rack where I got the tires, turn out to be defective tires not the bushings. Hell, even to replace the bushings would not cost $1500, more like $200 job to me.

When I had such a bad experience with the car in the first 2 years and with a rip off dealer for servicing, anyone think I would buy another MB?!

2006 E350
Definitely.

I don't like the W212 styling; if I had to replace my ride today I'd get a 2009 E550. 2009 in order to get the newer comand head-end (intergrated bluetooth, etc...) and the 550 just because I love the 350 but wouldn't mind the extra HP.

Only other ride I'd consider would be a C350 or C63.

I would, but right now I'm actually looking to downsize/downgrade cost so I'm probably going to go back to a GS300. This car is amazing though, perfect car. had it not been for my own financial decisionmaking I wouldn't be looking to get rid of it.

I absolutely love my 2007 E550 and when it comes time to replacing it not sure I'd go with another E.

Even after all this time the interior of the new E has yet to grow on me. It looks too plasticky to me and I wish the interior was more organic with some soft curves like the W211.

If I were to replace my car I'd actually look at an S550 as I like the interior so much more. Oddly as someone else said I think the new C class is also very nice but I need more space. I feel with the recent redesigns MB has really neglected the interior of the E class as it seems more like something I would expect in a C class (no offense intended to C class) and not an E class.

Hopefully my E550 will remain problem free for a few years so I can get some solid use while I enjoy it. It is definitely the best car I've ever owned.

No more E class for me. The new CLS63 AMG grow on me !
Either CLS63 or the next generation S class W222. I am done with W211.
I have owned 2 W211, E500 04 never problem and E55 06 never problem. In fact, i just don't like the new W212, interior looks cheap and the tail light looks like Camry. I have own W211 for total 5 years and just get tired of it. However, I will keep my W210 E55 for much longer time. its classic, simple, cheap in insurance and still very fast.

I hope they give the interior a facelift and get someone to work on it who uses something other than a ruler and trapezoid
