Hello,

Actully once I upgrade the APS 50 to Euro Comand i was able to play Radion with RDS feature, but i notice once i take my car for the service it seems the quality of the radion not as before clear and i notice RDS feature loseted not showing any more, however i notice a new buttom called WB stand for weather band radion!!!

I wish to know what made those to be changed? any experience with that? and how to return it as it was?

I guess i lost the feature and cannot find the setting any more where i select RDS radio in radio menu!!!!

I have no clue what has happened but I understood the car had a Euro head unit initially and this was changed to a Euro Comand. If you then see some WB menus, it looks like your car got configured incorrectly at the service. Perhaps they have programmed the radio to us US FM channel raster of 200 kHz instead of the European 100 kHz. Have you tried if the radio accepts even figures, like 100.0 MHz.

Thanks DB for the information, well i notice even the DVD cannot be played any more, and i remember this happen once i take the car from the service, and as you informed that the radio programmed as US speci rather than Euro, so the question is is it possible to return it as before (Euro Speci) do i need to connect it with DAS or it could be fix from the command?

I'm not familiar with the W211 COMAND engineering menu features but my understanding is that DAS would be the only option in this case.

Tariq,

Based on your symptoms, it appears that when you took the car in for service they upgraded your COMAND software (and probably set your COMAND model setting to your appropriate location [US?]).

Try accessing the Engineering menu, if you can't, then it is highly likely that your COMAND software has been upgraded (access to Engineering menu was removed in later software versions). Your only recourse at that point would be, as Diesel Benz mentioned, using DAS, or, if possible, downgrading your software to an earlier version.

DB the version in my command cannot access me to enter the engineering menu.

As you mentioned i assume its correct the car upgraded with US specification, i notice no RDS feature any more even cannot play DVD when i click on video , its like my Euro comand running with US software.

I will return back to the workshop and inform them about this case.

The problem been solved.
The command can be changed from US Specification to Euro through the following steps without returning to DAS:

1-Go to Audio menu.

2-Keep holding key 5 for five seconds then click and hold together 3 & 7.

3-It will take you to menu where have different specification chose W211 ECE.

4-Keep holding OK after choosing that.

5-Go back and turn off then on the command.

6-Go to radio menu you will notice it return as an original.

The above instruction can turn the DVD feature too as it was not reading the DVD once I turn to W211 US.
