How much did you get quoted or spend on Ipod Integration?
Hi ! I am considering having the dealer install the Ipod integration kit. The folks at the dealership quoted me around $500.00. I have found this at Crutchfield:

I was wondering if it is the same as the factory kit? Has anyone tackled this install? In case you are wondering, yes, I do have the mini Jack in the glove box.... but want more control and charging. Sorry if these are complete noob questions which have been discussed previously.

Thanks for the fast response! Really? Where did you see that?
Thanks for responding so fast! I looked again and did not see anywhere where it mentioned replacing the in-dash 6 disc CD changer. I did see this writeup:
"The DTZ-BENZ413 interface allows you to add an iPod to your Mercedes E, CLS or SLK class vehicle. This aftermarket iPod interface works exactly like the Mercedes factory adapter as it hardwires to the vehicle's Audio Gateway, allowing display of iPod song information on the factory display cluster or radio's display. The interface also lets you control the iPod by your factory steering wheel controls."
Did you install one? I am very interested in anyone's experience/issues with installation of the Ipod Integration kit MB or aftermarket. What are the best practices and what is the best price?

$500 is a deal!!!! Make sure that includes both parts and labor. I paid $675 ($400 for parts and $275 for install). Dealer had quoted me $800 so I had it done elsewhere with OEM parts.
If you don't use your CD changes, the Denson is a good alternative. I have also heard good things about Dension. Here's a link to a post in the ML forum where a member installed it: https://mbworld.org/forums/showpost....4&postcount=17

" ...Please enter your vehicle information or call a Sales Advisor at 1-888-xxx-6000 to find out if this adapter is compatible with your vehicle. The iPod interface uses the CD changer port, so any existing changer that you have must be disconnected.

I didn't buy the parts, they did. They got them at Mercedes-Benz of Pompano just down the street from their shop.
Let me know how it goes
