Picking up new car on Friday... any tips for me?
After three long months of waiting, my wife's car is now at the dealer and will be ready for us to pick up on Friday.
When picking up the car, I think the most important thing is to check for dings, chips, nicks and wheel scuffs as anything I don't notice once I drive off the dealer lot will be my problem (and expense). So, my wife and I will look at the car very carefully before handing over the check.
Anything else I need to look out for?

Stay away from the MB Dealers Perma Plate paint protection. The price is of the hook. I had a local detail shop apply the same stuff with the same warranty for $200. If I remember right the dealer wanted $1800!
Ditto on the above comments about making sure the manuals, tools, roadside kits are there.
Also have the dealer integrate your bluetooth phone for you and have him set-up navi if you have it. Saves stumbling through the hugh manual.

Most Dealers Will
Have em throw in some mats. That's easy
BTW... Congratulations. That's a really nice car. Hope you enjoy it.

While you're there, try negotiating for a set of winter-wheels. They might have a set that were left over from someone else who upgraded when they purchased. You'll need 'em next winter for your winter tires.
BTW, make sure your tires are all season, not summer.

The web site and the brochure state that all-season tires are standard, but I'll double check to make sure that's what I got.
I thought the brochure said carpeted floor mats are standard (the web site is silent on this point), so I'll call the salesman to make sure.
Anyone know what tools are supposed to be included in the tool kit?
