Ran over piece of steel!

Ran over piece of steel!
Last week I ran over a "tumbling" piece of steel on highway coming out of the city in Chicago at 50MPH (2x4 size) and I thought all was ok until I got home.
Could not get out of the way because SEMI TRUCKS on each side as usual.
Underneath my driver side door - Can NOT see it unless you look underneath) was a 3 inch cracked hole and piece loose.
I called Westmont MB where I bought my car, he said "If you cant see it, does not do anything to your car". I am worried about the under body of the car.
What are your feelings? Can it do anything bad to my E500?
How much to fix?
Really appreciate your thoughts...

makes your daughter horny
Is the damage to the side skirt (the painted part)? Or is it to the black plastic underbody panels? If its the latter its an easy fix. Im sure these parts are relatively cheap.

If the crack is in the plastic, underbody covering, then find another cover.
If the crack is in the frame or the door sill, a good body shop can usually 'tack' it...
Shouldn't cost much at all for a simple tack or two...
Yanno?
