Has anyone actually lowered an E320 4Matic (non-airmatic)?
I have looked through the message boards and see some mixed messages. But can't seem to find anyone who has actually lowered a 4matic w/out airmatic. If anyone has, I would be extremely grateful to know the type of springs you used, whether you replaced your shocks, and the amount of drop you got.

dont think its possible to slam without airmatic. coilovers will go lower than springs though. i run H&R Springs, cut a coil in the front and i'm an iPhone and 1/2 off the ground but of course i'd still like to go a little lower

Its actually for my girlfriends car. Luckily I have an E55 with airmatic, so my life is a lot easier. She isn't looking to lower it so much as reduce the gap b/w the tire and fender a little bit. I am going to give H&R a call this morning. I think that they might make a sport spring that will do the job.

I have a 4matic that's dropped with HR springs, the front can be tricky to remove since it have that extra axle.
Also, it's impossible to replace the front struts with aftermarket ones since they're different and I have yet to find anyone who makes aftermarket struts for the 4matic. The rear is the same though

Wow....nice to hear that it can be done. You have any pictures of the finished product? Any chance you remember the part numbers for the H&R's. I called H&R two days ago and they told me they don't have springs for an '05 320 4matic.
