Installed my 2006 Euro Command correctly but...
Everything is working fine on my 2003 E500 due to many people's post on installation. So "Thank You". 
Took me about 30-45 minutes. 
I cannot play US dvd's or burned DVD+R (I have no clue if i can play European ones, since I don't have any).
I also cannot play mp3 DVD's. I have not tried an mp3 cd's yet.
So basically my question is:
I know this is a common problem but my model is BE 7039 so i know it is capable of playing DVD's. But i think it is a 2006-2007 release. So the codes (mute, phone,serv) are not working for me. Does anyone have any updated info on getting to the engineering menu for this model?

I'm having the same problem on an 06-07 Euro Command that I sold to a buddy and installed it in his car. The "mute-phone-serv" access option is not working for us either. It's basically coded for "region 2" when we pop in a DVD so I believe it's just the region coding that we need to change. We're going to try the stealer to try this soon but if anyone has any ideas, I'm interested too! Thanks...

Don't you love the full pan. sunroof.
I've only had mine for a couple months but last night I installed clear euro corner lenses. Look great on the Brilliant Silver.
And also installed the BE 7039 Euro comand last night. Was excited I did it right but when I found out that the codes don't work it's basically pointless. sigh...

Now back on the Euro Command; there has to be a way this is done, maybe through Star Diag??? My MB SA was able to change the region code to watch US DVD's but upon removing and reinstalling it went back to region 2 for some weird reason. Hopefully a tech or someone can shed some more light...

If it does not play DVDs because of the region code, that would always be a simple change with SDS.
But why not test it with a region free DVD (if you don't have one, rip it and burn it region free).

DUH!!! I never thought of playing a region 2 DVD just to check it, lol. Yeah, when you pop in a US DVD it reads "cannot play due to region code 2" or something like that. The engineering mode would be nice to access for the DVD GO capability but at this point I just want it to play! I'm going to try it this weekend in my buddy's car...

Do you know what they charge? what if i went to an Mercedes autoshop instead of a dealership. Honestly i went to the dealership last week for the first time and i don't think they know what there doing once the cars are out of the lot.

I talked to a guy who I am going to go see this afternoon.
He said there should be no problems setting dvd to all regions and be able to make mp3 cd and dvd's to work. He gave me a quote of $50.00 if he could get it working. So I will let you know if this is successful. Only thing he said he couldn't or maybe wouldn't do was to set up "dvd in motion".

My update:
So I started to tinker around some more and burned all kinds of mp3 dvd's and movie dvd's at different speeds and different formats. Here's what works for me:
Was able to Burn 4 G of music on a DVD disc BUT you cant burn them as music (mp3) but as DATA. So I was excited about having all my music on 4 DVD+R.
Still cannot play burned DVD movies though as movie or as data. Anyone?
I also put in a commercial DVD movie and it played. WOO-HO! But it will not play DVD in motion.
Still trying to find that damn engineering menu to do so...
So I'm half way there.

my dream is to get to all region and be able to play while driving for my 3 year old. So im still on the look out.

With official, up-to-date MB tools the region code should be possible but not video in motion or even region free. Some unofficial tools may be able to do it still on the W211 head unit. Wish you luck and will be waiting for your post on the results.
