Thanks to my long time buddy Eric (MPX220), I got his hand-me-down taillights. He upgraded his to the '08 lights. I originally had NON-LED taillights and swapped them out with his TINTED LED ones. It was a simple plug and play! This only took me about 30-40 minutes to do this mod. No error messages!They light up beautiful. :thumbup: I still have to get my brake light tinted to match everything though. I'll also put in some chrome turn signal bulbs to eliminate the egg yolk look.

I give credit to Sonic for the tint job. They were sprayed on and with clear coat application. A very clean workmanship.

How much are the LED tails in the US ?

I'm thinking myself about swapping my pre-facelift, non-LED tails to the new style LED ones.

 

IMHO the LED lights are nicer than non LED, but the LED pre '07 lights were nicer than the '07/'08 ones. The new ones have too much an expanse of (irregularly centered) clear lens. So consider upgrading to the LED assemblies for your year.

 

were those tails sprayed with tint spray?

thanks MPX 220 , i would never have guessed that they would spray cherry red medium. i was thinking like those spray tint cans you can buy at the local auto parts store. looks great, i would need to look into this..

Is the center mounted tail light an LED type on all models? I mean if you upgrade from conventional (lifetime) bulbs to LED's will you also need to upgrade your center mounted tail light to LED?

I'm doing the rear cutouts on Saturday for now just like Eric's prior to his E63 transformation. Are you getting the E55 rear bumper? Hey, where's picks of your tinted lights????

 

Patience, my young Padawan. Patience. I don't have my car back yet. Gonna take a little while to finish up everything. I should have it back today or tomorrow. My wheels come next week and then the transformation will be complete. That is, until I mod it some more.

But I've been in constant contact with Karl Hueck, the CEO of Sevas Forged. He's been giving me regular updates on the status of my wheels. He is GUARANTEEING them on my doorstep next week with a sizable company check in one of the boxes for the delay. Hard to complain about that. He's been having trouble with the shipping company, apparently.
