Has anyone heard anything new about when the navigation will be available? My dealer has still not heard about when it will be available on ordered cars or when it will be available to be installed at the dealership.

My dealer said Feb built cars can be built with Navi straight from the factory. He did not know exactly when in Feb. But then the $500 off promo will go away.

My dealer is still telling me that you don't need to pay the $1625 up front. Any car purchased before Navi was available can have Navi added (when available) via service for $1625 installed. This is a little contradictory to what has already been posted in the forums (paying in advance required) but seems practical. Has anyone's dealer said this same thing to them....I want to make sure the dealer does not come back in Feb and say "oops sorry we screwed up, you had to pay before, now it is $2125+installation"..

I paid $1,625.00. I rather pay now, cuz I don't trust what the dealer says.

Did it show up on your invoice or sticker or something? What is the procedure the dealer has given you when the Navi is available...in other words, how does the service dept know you have purchased it?

Get it in writing, because what your dealer is doing is contrary to what the MB memo to all dealers stated.

The navigation was not originally ordered for my car, but the dealer said that I could get it for the $1625 price. I had to write a check and they voided the existing purchase agreement and wrote a new one to show I purchased the navigation. They indicated to me that MB keeps a record of the units ordered prior to availability, and that list will be used to ship the units to the dealership for installation once they become available. Who really knows, but it sounded like a good explanation to me.

with my car it was not on the sticker or invoice. however, it is in writing as an option but the dealer wrote it in.

But let me just make sure that rock, rayscar and cthouey, all of you have already paid the $1625...correct.

Is there anyone out there that has not paid and taken delivery and been told it will be $1625 when it is available? I think this is definitely one that I need to get in writing from them, so they honor the $1625 price later...

I was told you had to pay by the time you took delivery in order to get it for $1,625. If you did not I'd get it writing.

My car is ordered, to be built sometime in Jan (no date yet). The dealer has said I don't need to pay, but I have asked him to recheck this with the factory. If he insists I don't need to pay, I will have him put the price in writing on the invoice (when it is available).

You should be fine then. You don't pay when you order just when you pick up the car. If they don't want you to pay when you take delivery, it would be smart to get in writing but I'd say you are okay.

deposit

I did not pay a deposit when I ordered my car. I just paid for it when I picked it up.

Most dealers require a deposit when they order a car but the deposit is refundable and some don't even require it.
