I just got rear ended!

I was at a complete stop when a driver accidentally slam on the gas pedal instead of the brake and rear ended me. Rear bumper is gone, the left quarter panel is slightly pushed forward almost rubbing my tire, the entire rear is pushed forward now cause the trunk unable to close, I'll have to use force and push it forward in order to keep the trunk close.

the rear tail lights are broken, the trunk lid is slightly damaged.

Probably about 4k to 5k in damage.

since the car is going in the shop anyways, I'm thinking about adding a body kit, trunk lip and a roof spoiler. Any suggestions?

haha is that possible? Whiplashes? I do now have neck pain after the accident. My car was pushed like 3ft forward. really shows how hard the benz body is. It doesn't look bad but a lot of things are bent internally. I wish they would just total my car so I can have my CLS55

If you repair it, now is the perfect chance to upgrade to the E63 rear bumper for free!

doesn't it look the same as the e55 bumper?

I'm thinking about going for the full AMG front side and rear look.

Picture please

Have you not seen my other thread?

The E63 has a different diffuser from the E55 bumper. I like the E63 one better. I did E55 front, E63 rear.

The price list is in the thread somewhere. The rear bumper cost me $500.00, but it was complete luck that I got it for that price. I think it's $1200.00 at the dealer.

not bad considering the regular AMG knock offs are $1k

I'll have to shop around then.

BTW: how much are the led tail lights at the dealer? has anyone seen the ones on Ebay?

having just gone through a similar accident on my e500 (I got rear ended too; cept only one taillamp was smashed, but my right quaterpanel was bent like yours), let me walk you through my experience:

1. Cost was upwards 15k for the whole repair
2. It happened on April 10th, i got it back last monday
3. I did a semi-e63 conversion on my car and my body shop was nice enough to subtract the$ they got from the insurance company from the cost of the new parts. New part costs from Rusnak (Dealer):

07/08 E63 Tails: $250 Each
07/08 Trunk Finsher: $202
E63 Bumper Cover: $1150 (Make sure they dont skimp on the little clips/absorbers that are inside the bumper)
Fogs: ~$150 Each
Center Mesh: $154
Outer Mesh: $105 Each

Got the grill/e55 rear bumper/e55 exhaust used so no idea how much it is from dealer.
When you put on the new grill, the little lever that pops out through the grill when you open the hood will need to be replaced (it's not long enough)

4. They had to strech the car on a jig because the accident bent the frame an 1/8"
5. Replaced/welded/bonded the entire right quater panel
6. There was secondary damage on the left side of the car (the car was hit on the right tail) due to the impact of the crash actually streching the bumper. Bondoed & painted

Good luck with everything

$15k? that's crazy.

anywho, my quarter panel did not bend in, it was just pushed forward. The quarter damage would give the shop much more labor time. Your damage seems more severe than mine. I'm going to shop around, went to two shops and they both thought it'll be about 4 to 5k but I'm sure they're just trying to make some $$ off me cause they know I want to do a conversion.

Does it matter on $? Isn't the insurance company paying for it?
