Ok, here's the AMG Frakenstien conversion pics....
I know it looks a little silly with 17" wheels. I've been waiting patiently for the new ones but they've yet to arrive.
Anyway, here's the list:
1. E55 Front bumper
2. E63 Rear bumper
3. Roof piano blacked out
4. Rear tails plus 3rd smoked
I know you're gonna ask why E55 front and E63 rear. Well, I had actually decided to get the E55 front and rear but I got scammed on my rear bumper. After that, I just didn't have the warm and fuzzies about doing the conversion anymore so I sold my front bumper to a member here. Then, out of the blue, an E63 rear bumper fell into my lap. It was brand new, never painted, never mounted...nothing. I had already sold my front so I was in a pinch now. I found a guy selling a complete front E55 bumper with mesh and fogs. It was more than twice what I just sold my bumper for but it was complete and ready to ship. Even though it was more than what I just sold my other bumper for, it wasn't even close to the cost of doing an E63 front end. Plus, the only difference with the rear E63 bumper and E55 rear bumper is the diffuser. I happen to like the E63 diffuser better anyway.
The roof is interesting. I saw it done to an E55 on the AMG forum and thought it looked good. Well, it even looks better in person. I love it. And the smoke job on the tails is perfect. I'm still searching for AMG side skirts. I have one coming but unless I find another used one, the dealer will have to get paid. Luckily, the Appearance Package side skirts do a good job of lining up the front and rear bumpers so I'm not super pressed to get them.
The body shop that did the paint and install took some short cuts and we're addressing that now. But overall, it looks good.
If I could just get my wheels!

Looks awesome, I love the E55 front bumper. The side skirts do match up well. The roof looks amazing too.
I agree, I don't think those wheels look silly either. I just wish those had come in 18's at least, not 17's.

Benz-O, My girlfriend may be getting an W211 and I wanted to do something similar to what you have done with the body. What did you end up paying for the sport kit bumpers and skirts and the quad exhaust. Is it an actual E55 exhaust or just mufflers or tips? Car looks real good what do you plan on doing for the wheels?

OEM Rear E63 bumper - $500 (Got so lucky with this)
OEM Rear E63 bumper chrome strips $165.00
OEM Front E55 bumper w/fogs and mesh - $700.00
OEM E55 exhaust - $750.00
Labor - 1400.00 (including tail lights and roof)
I guess about 3500.00 for the conversion + another $3000.00 for wheels, + 1000.00 for tires.....
JESUS! I think you just made me sick. Thanks.

Looks great. The AMG kit was a must have option for me when I was looking. I could live without the pano/keyless go/and a number of other options but the kit was a must. I don't have the quads but it's all good. Congrats on being almost done.

I didn't realize you didn't buy the side skirts, why not? Also, how do you guys feel about the replica AMG bumpers? Keep in mind this will be a lease. Does the exhaust fit without modification?

I'm in the process of getting the skirts. If your W211 has the 'Appearance Package', like mine, then the skirts line up fine with the bumpers. This is a combo that MB offers, actually. If your W211 does not have this package, then you'll need skirts to make it look right.
Do not get the replica bumpers. I can't stress this enough. They don't fit well, you have to trim them and good luck trying to find a body shop to install them. You won't be happy with them.
The E55 exhaust fits with no modification at all. Your installer will have to compensate for the 1/4" pipe diameter difference, but it'll be no problem for them.

RE: Appearance Mods
It looks very nice! I particularly find the black roof to be unique, it really looks like pano with the silver.
I wouldn't sweat the side skirts too much unless a good deal falls into your lap; the app. package skirts are plenty aggressive.
All you really need are some 18 inch wheels to finish her.....which of course will equate to more $$$.
Very tasteful outcome, you should keep her.

Geez, if I had to add it up, I'd probably puke. Let's see, shall we?
OEM Rear E63 bumper - $500 (Got so lucky with this)
OEM Rear E63 bumper chrome strips $165.00
OEM Front E55 bumper w/fogs and mesh - $700.00
OEM E55 exhaust - $750.00
Labor - 1400.00 (including tail lights and roof)
I guess about 3500.00 for the conversion + another $3000.00 for wheels, + 1000.00 for tires.....
JESUS! I think you just made me sick. Thanks.
