Service A

Hi,
My E350 is 8months-8.1K miles old. It has started showing the message "Service A due in 30days". It used to show service-A due at 13K miles. Is there any reason why service A is due so early? Most of my miles are city miles.
Any insight will be greatly appreciated.
thanks.

Lightbulb FSS says to change oil sooner...

City driving is considered hard duty driving, especially short trips... oil gets dirty faster than on highway... so the FSS is sensing it needs to be changed sooner.

Pretty smart.. uh???

Despite some "smart advice" above my money is on the fact that the dealer didn't restart the FSS timer at delivery. What you are experiencing is the time from when it was set at the factory. If you look at your build date you might see the discrepancy. HTH

Service A is due at either 13,000 or 12 months. If you haven't had the car for 12 months Amdeutsch is right, the dealer didn't reset the FSS at delivery.

That happened to my wifes car, were getting a Service A due in 30 days and we'd only had it 6 months and had about 6,000 miles.

Same thing is happening to me. Does anyone know if there is a way around this? Or do I need to get the Service A at 7000 miles and 7 months on the road (which is what the FSS is indicating)?

Thanks.

The dealer reset the FSS in the wife's car and she just had to remember to schedule the service when it was due.

The dealer told me the same thing. I will take it back for service A after 12months/13K miles. The dealer said he will reset the FSS then. I am worried if it will nullify the warranty. The dealer said that it wont. I am not very comfortable with it though!

Took mine in today. They reset the FSS and the SA told me that it would remind me in November (one year anniversary). We'll see.
