Hi Everyone,
I have a e320 with a factory fitted amg body kit, exhaust system and wheels and would like to do something with the brakes. At the moment they are standard brakes and calipers and was wondering if i have any options of making them look better in any way or upgrading to different rotors etc..Thanks.

lol, dont paint it , it would look horrible since the calipers have a non flat finish....
Alldough i would like to know ho to really clean them, i mean, they are silver and look nice when new, but now, they are BLACK with dust...

Stock calipers (unless they are the OEM BBK variety like the AMG ones) should not be painted flashy colors. If you stay with a silver or black, I can kind of see that. Red, yellow, ... draws attention and says BBK. Then, you realize they are not BBKs.![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)
That's just me. ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Other than that, some cross-drilled and/or slotted rotors would give it an extra oomph.

Thanks for the suggestions. Would the e55 amg brake rotors and calipers 100% fit my car or would there need to be some modifications done. Also how much would replacement pads cost. Will also look into the brembo side. Another thing would it not be possible to add larger caliper covers to the stock?

Get
some light weight rims with 18's wider tires ,buy the lightest street rim you can find. That will reduce unsprung weight make the car more responsive and handle better.Get the rims with more curves in the style and a less open design. Then prime and paint the calipers,no one will see that they are brembos or E55 and you won't see any improvement in braking anyway by spending thousands on brake kits. You will see a greater improvement in braking and acceleration by going to the lighter rim and reducing rotational mass and unsprung weight.
Cross drilled rotors are a waste of money on a street car and are prone to stress cracks. In several thousand miles when the second pair of stock pads wear out,get some Diversified cryogenics frozen rotors and performance pads and install them. They will not wear out for the rest of your time with the car and it will brake faster and shorter than any set of brembos or AMG.
Take the money you save from doing the above and invest it in a good performance driving school i.e. http://www.skipbarber.com/
and others at your local track,if in Europe your local Mercedes will provide you with the names of local instruction.
It will do far more good in the long run.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

Your car will love you,You will enjoy driving it a lot more with a simple investment of time to learn how to drive a car to its limit.A thousand dollars spent on learning how to Go(and stop) is worth way more than Show![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

One more thing, lower the car with some performance springs and shocks. From your pictures(Beautiful car)You have done some nice mods however it looks like the CG is a bit high.

The W211 AMG E55/CLS 55 Brakes WILL fit 100%
One Must change OR redrill the front spindles as the shoulder on the front brake caliper mounting bolt is a larger dia
If you opt to have them redrilled have the front spindles redrilled on a Vertical Mill
Also You Will need 18 Inch Rims to clear the Front Brake calipers
If you use aftermarket rims Please check the offset for clearance

Install Time is 5 Hours to swap spindles and change front and rear Calipers/Rotors
Also includes Bleeding the Brakes...That is IF you have replacement front spindles...otherwise the down time will be up to the machine shop to redrill the old spindles

I think Ohlord's advice should be followed.
If however, you want to upgrade your calipes, have you considered RWD E500front calipers? I don't know the difference between them and E320's (if any), but I do know that they are 4 piston (AMG's are six). Additionally, the RWD has "Mercedes-Benz" written on them. (The E500 AWD does not). I know all 500's get 4 piston fronts, but never knew why the RWD has the "MB" on it, while the AWD's don't. Looks really nice IMO. Might be a cheaper alternative to Brembo's or AMG's. And I can tell you, the SBC takes away from any brake modulation or feel, but those calipers bring the E500 down to a stop with force.

I have not seen the calipers side by side but 8 vs 6 pistons does not necessarily mean the calipers are smaller. Also, the pistons in the 6 could be bigger then the ones in the 8. Less pistons does not necessarily translate to inferior braking power.
