Even though the dealer couldn't find an ashtray delete option for the front ashtray, I ordered the small rubber mat insert that makes this area into a useable space. MB part number A211 683 00 51 Costs four dollars and some change! I am posting this for other non-smokers that have been unable to find this part number.

See my post on this a few months ago with photos. Removing the ash tray makes for a nice storage area, and the rubber mat keeps stuff in there from sliding around.

I must have missed your useful post. My W211 came with this rubber mat and the ashtray. I thought new Euro cars come by default as non-smoker cars, my W221 does not have any ashtray at all, only power plugs, one at the front and two for the rear. As an option one can order the car with ashtrays.

I thought smoking was a lot less common in the US compared to European countries like Germany, Spain or even France. Odd if you don't get the car by default with this non-smoker option.
