Command radio anomoly

06 E500 with Command and HK sound.

When I'm not in Audio display mode, if I touch a station preset, the block text comes up and displays that station.

But, if I try to touch another preset, it won't do anything until that block preset display has closed. So, I have to wait about 3 or 4 seconds to try another preset.

In Audio display, it doesn't require that. is it a programming flaw? Other 06's that I've been in will allow you to change to another preset before that box has disappeared.

Also, is there way to have the speedo display change to each preset when using the arrows on the steering wheel? Mine only tunes the frequency up or down. On the CL, you can change it in the settings from the wheel. But I don't see that option in the programming from the wheel settings.

Is there any Command guide (literature) online? I don't have mine anymore (doh!)

You can probably download the Comand literature from 'Owners Online' at MBUSA.com

The ability to choose whether you want to scroll with your steerting wheel arrow buttons by "Next Available Frequency" OR "Your Next Preset" was made available with the '07s. Its my understanding that that choice was dropped with the introduction of the W211's, and restored due to owner requests for it.

I do not believe the choice can be made available to pre '07 cars. It was not available in my '04. It scrolled like yours.

Thanks for that info, this was discussed at another thread but it did not become this clear.

I tried that. It's just the basic 521 page manual that I can see from the web. That manual (and the one in my car) refers to a separate command manual for Command features. They don't seem to have that online.

I guess you are after a W211 Comand manual? Your "vehicle I drive" list does not have any W211 and I got a bit confused.
The 2005 is probably close if you are after a 2006 version?

The box thing is normal - if you are not in Audio mode there will be a delay changing stations.

Also, as Barry pointed out - the scanning of presets is not available until 07 and it has something to do with the new IC used from what I understand.

Isn't it more like new version coding? For the IC it probably is under the SCN code, unfortunately. It isn't simple at all to fool the SCN coding.
