How many miles on your E?

Hey all, I didn't normally venture out of the C-class section up untill a week or so ago when I decided that I am going to buy an E-Class, I love the look of them, especially after a few mods. I also feel I've outgrown my little 4 cylinder coupe now :P

So I was wondering, how many miles have you got on your E and how well has it served you in terms of reliability up to this mileage? How is it running now, smooth as diarrhoea out of a chrome a**hole?? I'm curious.

53,200 miles since I 1st got it new on July 2, 2004.

No problems with it over that time and I'm prolly keeping it for the long haul.

Just over 180,000 miles. No unusual problems except I've had to replace the ball joints and the motor mounts. Everything else is pretty routine. Still have the original battery and exhaust (knock on wood). The latest issue is the drivers side heated seat is too HOT. I put on about 35K per year and expect to keep the car about 3 more years.

My next car will be another E-class with European delivery.

7,777 miles since last November. I only live 3 miles from work.

Check engine light has come on a couple of times, but removing and replacing the gas cap has fixed that both times.

About to hit 40,000 miles. Nothing really except little defective stuff they can't fix (seats squeak on turns, pano roof makes clunking noise).

I've noticed with the pano roof (my c-class has one) if i keep it lubricated around the rubber seals and the joints the noise disapeers for a good while.

Nice to see the general good reliability, especially the one with just over 180k, thats good news!
I go to see a possible buy on Saturday, if all goes well, I could be joining the E club this weekend. *fingers crossed*

Ya, that's what the dealer said to do, but I hate the extra work (lazy person I am yes). Also, I think if I use the dynamic function for the seats the squeeking goes away temporarily.

Btw, I like the tail lights on your C coupe. The ones I see here mostly have the old style lights I hate. The same goes for the 2007+ SL, love the new tail lights, the old ones from 03-06 were ugly.

Cool I would expect ball joints and motor mounts to be replaced sometime after 100K mi. I hope that I able to provide a similar report at 180K miles!

"I should've gotten a V-8"!!!

Another +1 on this- I got at 320 and it feels a little underpowered
for the weight of the car.

3000 miles as of today on my 08 E350. I had 90K on my 2001 E320 when I got rid of it in March for the new 08. No major problems on that one at all.

Just got back from my test drive, and wow, why did I even buy a C-class? The E is so friggin comfortable and just feels like a tank "GET OUTTA MY WAY" kind of feeling on the highway. Deposit down soon as I finished inspecting under the hood.

Do I get a welcome to E class world?

Welcome! +1 on the comfort!

Just drove in from SF Bay area to LA ( and on to San Diego/Seaworld).
This was the first long drive its been on and it was so smooth going
down Interstate 5 - Moving past slower traffic at 90-100 mph was effortless

Not that I want the long weekend to end but actually looking forward to the
"drive" back
