CLS63 instrument cluster in E500
Yesterday I installed a new (US spec) CLS63 instrument cluster into my friends 2003 E500...the only reason to do so, was/is because of the fonds that are so much nicer then the original ones and the extra screens with engine oil temperature, battery voltage and laptimer (and NOT becaue of somebody trying to be a poser).
Anyways - the cluster was new which made locking it into the EIS easy and the endresult is a new IC with old mileage and improved looks.
As we have a couple more of these new ICs in stock, we will be offering these clusters for the 209 CLK, 211 E-class and 219CLS (as long as stock lasts) for 750USD excluding installation/programming (for which the costs vary per model from 100USD to 200USD).
some pictures to show what is meant/what was done:

Steve, I have an appointment with you tomorrow for a Navi install on my '03 E500. Will you have one of these clusters available? I may want to have it installed at the same time. What's the install cost for my car?
I'll email Wanda should I choose to do it? What's the cut off time for letting her know of my decision?

That's nice Steve - now tell us what you have learned on the 2009 COMAND in a pre 2009 car!

How much to buy the old white faced dials you took out? I have an 05 E320 with the black faced dials, but I like the white faced dials better. Would the white faced dialed gauges be functional in mine? Thanks.

Maybe Steve can confirm or deny this, as I'm willing to sell you mine if they work for you

Steve is right. It will only be for the same car from which that IC was taken out off, since it has been married to that car with EIS & CGW. Plus the mileage cannot be changed since the mileage is stored in the EIS.

not anything but still a fair lot....and as long as you are willing to pay, I can do that 2009 comand upgrade as well
personally I do not see what the fuss is about...for european cars with DVD (& TV) playback it only gets worse...and simply adding a CD (DVD) changer becomes an expensive issue as well

Send Steve a email @ MBENZNL.com I'm sure he has a couple of combi s
It will require a good amount of time with the sds to save and reprogram the new IC to pair with your vehicle. You might also locate a person/independent with a SDS here in the states that can program it for you
