Local Dealer offering $10,500 off 2008 211

My local dealer here in San Jose is offering all 2008 e-class cars for $10,500 off MSRP at 2.9% for 66 months.

Anyone else seeing deals like this in your area?

yup, deals on the 08 e350 are all over the place. i traded up from a c300 and all i had to add was just $1000 down and $50 a month, so i took it

they are trying to clear out the 08s for the 09s and then they are even going to have steeper discounts when the all new 2010s hit the market.

i personally love the classic looks of the w211, so i jumped at the deal. if the new E class is going with the same look as the 08 C300, then i am glad i jumped to the w211. just my opinion of course

Fremont dealer gave a similar discount. However you have to deal with leftover, so it is difficult to find a car with desired options and colors.

211 is most handsome car, so I doubt that 212 will look better.

Which dealer, Smythe, Beshoff or ??. What are they quoting you on an 08? (Don't know what MSRP was, probably 52-56?)

Local MB shot out an email with discounts of 10000 - 18000 off MSRP and stated its because the of the economic slowdown. The add also offers employee discounting on most others - probably to match what others like GM are doing. If you got the cash, it may be the right time to buy over the next couple months. The 'ol economy always seems to be sluggish right before the elections.

Yes, it is a good time for a purchase, however anew E class is in a year away. So you have a chance to save a little and get next generation of the car. Drive your current Benz for now.

I'd like to get the new COMAND system myself, but I'm not sure it's worth spending $50-60K next year instead of maybe $30-$40K for a new 2008. The only difference seems to be the new COMAND?

I guess we are talking about '10 model which supposes to have new body style, better engine, better ergonomics and perhaps many other nice features. Resale point of new model will be also higher. However if you are interested in driving your E for 8-10 years or even longer, then sure you can save money and buy now.

yup, that's what i did, i had the 08 C300 and yet the styling of the w211 still made me go back and trade in for a 08 E350 because the dealer had such great deals when i went in for my service A. plus, i ended up not having my service A done (saved some money there )

i plan to keep this E350 for as long as i can. my eldest son is 9 years old, he can have it when he turns 18

i plan to get new rims and tires when my tires are ready to be replaced. i am still on the fence about an Eiback spring kit as this is my wifes daily driver and i am not sure if she can drive a lowered car without tearing the bumper off

There's about an eight percent spread between invoice and MSRP on the E-class; and MB has been giving the dealers $4K in cash for each E350 car they move (expires Sunday, may be renewed)

So, depending on options, $10.5 K is pretty rich--dealer must be dipping into his holdback, or maybe he's got a volume incentive he's trying to reach

Sounds like a good time to buy
