06 Apperance Package: Bumper center strip - can it be removed?
Hi, I have an 06 Appearance Package E350. My bumper has a center strip (see picture). Can this be removed? Has it been done before? Thx.

Yes it can, did it on my 03 E500.

2003 E500, 2006 VW Touareg Individual, 2008 Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT
Pop the hood and look down behind the plastic mesh there are about 5 or 6 clip in the center, pop them out. Then get under the car where the cover plates are for the fog light are, stick your hand in, there is one clip on each side and it will come out pretty easily.

Do you have to remplace it? or keep you the original one?

I tried this and I am having a little trouble - do you turn them or actually "pop them out" as in "breaking them off?" Thank you.

You squeeze the two together and push out. I will see if i can snap some pic when i get home.

IN the first picture you squeeze the two clip together and push out, and in the second picture you see the number of clips hope it helps!
