hey guys i need some help.
well i drove my car all day back and fourth and so did my wife and car was fine i stop to get some gas put the gas then got on the hwy and car was fine it had a little less than a half tank and i was headed to the mall about 40 miles away then my gas gauge just stoped working on the hwy.
the gauge shows like its compleatly empty but the little orange low gas light is not on and it dont say low fuel when i start the car and its running perfect.
what the hell could it be?
this is agravating me and it almost makes me want to get rid of it.
i love the car and i only had it about 6-7 months and this happens.

I put injector cleaner to an almost empty tank.Filled it with high octane (94) fuel and that was the end of it.

I would add Techron to the tank. This was the fix for many cars in the south that bought out of spec gas containing high sulphur.

If that didn't fix it,, the tank was pulled and sending unit replaced.

But it will be your job to prove you had high sulphur. It won't be easy to have them admit to it.

I had this happen, too. I stopped and purchased about a half talk of Diesel and when I got back in the car the gauge was all white but the low fuel light was not on, and Range read "---" So I stopped and filled up later and it started working and hasn't done it since.

That would not be a good idea on the E500 LOL

i tryed puting some more gas and it dident help but i dident fill it up. ill put some of that techron and put some more gas and see if it helps.
any one got any more info post up.

well here is some thing funny. i went to the parts store to buy the injector cleaner and when i got back in the car it was working lol and the car was started because my wife was waiting in the car listening to the radio.
at least its working now lol ill still put a half of bottle of the techron just for the hell of it.

There may be others but Techron is on the MB approved list. Caution don't use a cleaner that is not approved for use in MB's.

I do put diesel in my SuperDuty 7.3 Diesel Truck.
