alignment- veers to the right
alignment- veers to the right
anyone find that the e500 slightly veers to the right when your hands are off the wheel?
was told this is normal?
It does not sharply veer, just drifts

My car drifts to the left as described. Took it in at 1000 miles last week and it was aligned but actually seems to be a little worse.
Have to go back this week for motor mounts. Service advisor will have tech ride with me to check it out.
Wasn't there a post about a "camber bolt kit" sometime ago. Anyone know a service memo? It would be very good if I had the information before I went into dealer tomorrow.
The service advisor had never heard of the "ticking/motor mount" problem. I gave him the service memo number and he checked it out immediately and had a tech verify that that was my problem.
I was somewhat surprised as this is a fairly large dealership and moves and services a ton of cars. They could not have been any more helpful and professional. I did get a CLK 240 for a loaner car and I did not buy my car at this dealership.

This is not a big pull just a slight veer when you take your hands off from wheel.
Anyone else not been able to get it aligned?

I had mine serviced in November for the drift to the right. Not a pull - only noticed it if I took my hands off the wheel on the interstate. I only checked it again last week (rare to get on the interstate when it is not congested) and it will still drift just like before.
From what i see, its just that the workshop prior to delivering the cars to the owner, do not get the balancing and allignment checked. And if they do, its a preety hap hazard job. Most cars have these problems. In reality its sad, but thats true.
Another favourites failure are the car batteries. I wonder how many have got these problem.
Anyway, just got to deal with it.

Some of y'alls tracking issues may have something to do with the road. If the road has a crown in the middle, a perfectly aligned car will track to the right slightly. If you change into the left lane (or on-coming lane), the car should start to track to the left. Bear in mind that not all roads have a crown and not all to the same degree.
Feo2....
Congratulations on the new car. Don't worry too much about the drift to the right (unless it is really pulling) as it is not a big deal.
Post some pictures of your new ride.

Just got my new c-class last week and I soon discovered that it has the same veering problem....sucks.
MB should really get this done right before delivering their new cars. Never have I needed to send a brand new car in to the dealer within days of getting it. Dealer did alignment but still veers. Now they are installing the
camber bolt and I have to leave my car overnight. Took the train home.

Jim Banville makes an excellent point, though I have had my E500 in for this same issue. Another factor which could influence alignment is tire pressure (1 or more being out of whack with another). For this reason I'd wish I'd gotten the remote tire pressure monitoring system, but that's another story...
Interesting.....you have replied to a post from January 2003 about the alignment problems on the 2003 W211.
Does the same problem exist on the 2005 model. Hate to think that this quality control problem would carry forward two model years.
