Picked up car - more comments

Picked up the care Monday in a snowstorm (it rained on my wedding day also, by the way), got it detailed Friday and finally got a chance to take some pictures.

Some additional comments over what I posted earlier thsi week:

1. Harmon Kardon sounds really great - swicthing from normal stereo to Logic 7 mode is dramatic.

2. Panaroma roof is great but as a driver you don't really notice it - more for the back seat passengers.

3. Not being able to move between preset radio stations with sterring wheel controls is a real pain - MB should come out with a software upgrade.

4. Very noticable differences between the suspension settings - fun to change back and forth.

5. I've always read my owners manuals but at 394 pages this one will be a challenge - I'm only through page 130 after a week.

Beautiful. Congratulations and enjoy your new car. It is an awesome color combination. Crazy4Cars should love the wood wheel as I do!! Please take and post some pics with brighter light on the exterior for us because the Tectite is really great.

Thanks, Jeff

Gorgeous. The sport package is the first option I would check off!

Just wondering about the floor mats are they all weather ones or do you have the charcoal floor mats? I to have the ash interior thinking aboukt getting charcoal floor mat to replace the ash. The car looks great.

Thanks all.

Yes, Britton, these are the $65 MB all season mats. Since I was getting the car in January and so far the winter this year has had tons of snow I figured that amount of money was a wise spend - they look pretty good and the ridges realy trap the snow/salt/gravel that always seems to be on your shoes when the waeather is bad.

Agree with the comments on the Tectite - with the ash interior, aluminum trim and black wood especially the wood wheel I think is has to be one of the better color combos available.

Great looking car. The ash/sport package was the only variant of the sport package that I really liked. The contrast is just right. I know its just taste, but the pics are great!!

pat a.

I to got me 2003 clk 320 in Dec and living in Wisconsin I got the all weather floor mats free from the dealer. The ash interior is so light that this spring I will probably order the charcoal floor mats they will not show as much dirt and rotate the two types of mats winter and summer.

Charcoal floor mats with ash interior

Great idea - if I had thought of that I would have gotten the charcoal floor mats instead of the rubber ones...

pat a - in your 'dashboard view', the carpet looks... 'mowed' I guess....its sort of striped. Is that a sport package thing that I've just never noticed, or did your detailer vacuum it in different directions to put the bands into the carpet?

Price?

Pat if you don't mind me asking what type of deal did you get on your E500(buy/lease) and how does it handle in the snow. I am also from NJ.

Thanks

The deal I got was invoice price + 400 for the advertising charge + 500 for the phone handset (about $3800 off MSRP). (from ray Catena in Edison).

I have not really ahd the chance to drive it in snow, since we have had only very light snowfall in the month since i got it. I have driven it in a lot of salt - its amazing how they dump tons of it on the road for 0.5" of snowfall. The damn stuff would have melted on its own without cars on the raod ahving to be covered with it.
