Replacing W211 brake calipers.

I have been scouring ebay for a while and there are loads of AMG 4, 6 and 8 pot calipers coming up regularly for the E/CLS 55's. They aren't too scarily priced either.
Would these fit a 2004 W211 E240?? I mean are the caliper mounting holes the same on the strut? Would they go on straight or would they require a carrier of sorts?? This, is of course, not taking the rotor size into consideration.

the front spindles have a larger bolt diameter for the AMG brakes (14mm instead of 12mm)

we have some (NEW) AMG brakes in stock as well btw

On might think this would require a master cylinder change as well.

SO, may I assume they would fit the stock rotors straight (apart, of course, from the bolt diameter)?

No, no. The rotors will be different. Std Eclass has 11.6" diameter rotors and AMG has 14.2" diameter rotors. So the change from std to AMG calipers would entail;

- new calipers
- new rotors
- new pads
- new pins
- possibly new carrier mount (between strut and caliper)

The carriers are my biggest fear. I can machine the spindle bolt holes 2mm, no problems, but am afraid if the AMG calipers don't then bolt straight on?!
Rotors aren't an issue either.

the E55/E63s use the exact same spindle as all other 211s - the ONE-AND-ONLY difference is that the caliper bolt holes are 2mm bigger...the 55/63 spindles don't even have more material around those holes - these are exactly the same except for the hole diameter (and thus - the calipers bolt straight on after enlarging those holes).

On my own E220CDI I had the original spindles machine drilled (watercooled)...as easy as can be.

Were you successful use the stoptech stainless steal brake lines? Did the part you bought from Amazon fit well? I am trying to get mine done, and the parts I received today have a tiny hole compared to the OEM line.
