Replacing W211 brake calipers.
I have been scouring ebay for a while and there are loads of AMG 4, 6 and 8 pot calipers coming up regularly for the E/CLS 55's. They aren't too scarily priced either.
Would these fit a 2004 W211 E240?? I mean are the caliper mounting holes the same on the strut? Would they go on straight or would they require a carrier of sorts?? This, is of course, not taking the rotor size into consideration.

No, no. The rotors will be different. Std Eclass has 11.6" diameter rotors and AMG has 14.2" diameter rotors. So the change from std to AMG calipers would entail;
- new calipers
- new rotors
- new pads
- new pins
- possibly new carrier mount (between strut and caliper)

Rotors aren't an issue either.

On my own E220CDI I had the original spindles machine drilled (watercooled)...as easy as can be.
