lowered on links, now alignment issues...
Not what you think. I planned on getting an alignment after lowering my E500 with links so took it in today... Dealer calls a few minutes ago and tells me they are having issues getting a laser reading on the front wheels due to the front bumper being too low... They took the car to the Audi Dealer who has a different alignment rack and they couldn't get a reading either... Just my luck, always breaking new ground it seems... It's not like the car is slammed to the pavement either... So the cost has gone up to $200 and it's still not aligned yet... And I'm sure the Tech is having a blast driving my car all over town burning through my gas and tires...

Marvelous... Just got another call... They got the laser reading and now need to install 4 camber bolts to the tune of $150.00 on top of the $200 for labor. PLUS, the passenger side axle CV joint boot is torn and leaking and they are blaming it on the lowered suspension... Apparantly the boot is stretched or something and the fix is to replace the axle assembly...

MBWorld Fanatic!
They
will hit you for the boot
The other costs for camber eccentrics and alignment are not really that bad.
Seems if they do good work you have a pretty fair shop as far as shops go![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Now if they stick you for a grand for the boot issue then complain.![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
The car looks great with that down rake to the front![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Remember you have to pay to play.Or learn to diy

I'm getting employee pricing (wife)... I do DIY as much as possible but there's a limit to my ability and tools and Alignment is beyond my capabilities tools-wise. They said they'll cover the boot once but after that, they'll blame it on lowering... I've done CV boot repairs and front axle assembly repairs and it's no big deal really... Just concerned that the boot tore due to lowering...
