re: hk speakers
Ok. I've done an extensive search on how to remove & replace the right passenger side hk speaker, because I tried doing it myself, and I have an extremely hard time trying to get the speaker to come loose after unscrewing the 4 screws.
My question is, does anyone know if it is glued down? I remember reading a post from someone (can't recall his/her name) re-doing his/her audio system and had mentioned something about these speakers by the footwell being glued down, or something like that.
Any information would be most appreciated.
Thanks, and Happy New Years!

I have a 2003 and the door speaker is firmly attached. It has 4 screws but they don't release it. My car was a lease return and someone removed / stole the tweeter from the door pillar. The replacement I found had a harness with it and fortunately, I could reattach it without removing the door speaker so I never solved the puzzel. I would say they are attached with adhesive. They definitely do not release with moderate tugging.

I believe butyl caulk is used to set glass in most vehicles. I also believe that wrecking yards use piano wire to cut windshields out for salvage. Butyl caulk just gets tackier with heat. Wire might be a reasonable option.
