I had the same problem and found it to be the motor shaft what you can do to make it cheaper to buy another one on eBay just the case and swap out the motor or else swap out the cage

Hey guys sorry to bring back to life an old thread but I have the ntg 2.5 command and I wanted to install the cd changer but just get rid of the changer and make it into a cubby for storage I saw that someone on here was able to do it but no more info after can I get some insight on how I can do it as mine did not come with the 6cd changer thanks guys it's a definite job I want done

May be somebody could help me with the next situation. I have an E-class W211 from 2008 with NTG 2.5, because of this NTG I have no need for CD changer, so the wood panel below the NTG unit is made to not be opened. It has no button and it can't be opened, but.... in this case how can I remove the NTG unit from the dash to connect other devices?
Can someone help me, please?

u can fix it for free. I saw a russian on youtube wjo opened it up and cut a piece of plastic to mske the turning open wheel have more grip. Those theeth are broken. I made mine for free instead of 200 doklars fix.

Our CD changer is a bit slow to open and needs some help to open fully. Seems like it needs some silicone grease on the drive tracks/ gears.

It's on the to-do list.

I have an aftermarket Android unit and am looking to do the same thing with the storage compartment. However, the CD changer door panel no longer opens. Any advice would be much appreciated!
