Warranty resolve have the dealer update the COMAND head unit software per DTB P-B-82.60/382b AUG07. If not under warranty, DIY - purchase service disc (special tool) W211589142200 as procedure to update is simple. If equipped with navigation and phone the update will add ETA + telephone signal strength to display, and navigation voice mutes with MUTE button.
Since you do not mention the model year, if your vehicle is equipped with Audio50 head unit (cassette player) DTB P-B-82.62/226c (disc W211589122200) will apply.
PM your email address and I will forward a copy of the relevant DTB inclusive of update procedure.

The motor is not available separately. Housing inclusive of motor for your vehicle is part #2116800552 (for comparison pricing, parts.com $98.90). PM your email address and I will forward install instruction sheets to assist in repair or replacement.

I had a relative stick his wallet in there and close the door (no cd changer in place). The door jammed as described. We were out of town and the wallet was essential. I pried the door up. It probably stripped some plastic gears but it reset itself and works passably well. I would not recommend it except under duress. I saw Potomoc motors sell the whole unit on e- bay once for $10. I bid $5 but obviously got beat. I did not even need it at the time but it appears to be a delicate part and I was willing to stockpile. That piece (along with the coin tray) is a landmine waiting to blow (IMHOP)

Check upper control panel fuse #31 (5A) and CDC #26 (7.5A) at interior fuse panel if fine, pull wait a few minutes and reinstall this may reset.

Hi!
I have retrofitted NTG2.5 and had NTG1 before. Now door wont open. I know problem is at Comand. Have anyone found solution to made it work with NTG2.5? Do anyone have wiring diagram for that door and is it 12V motor for that?

I got it here. http://www.kabeldaviko.de/
With the module it will allow VIM but the navigation won't work because it is fooling the velocity reading to show that the car is not in motion.

I have pictures of the whole unit (cdvchanger) there is motor that pushes the cd changer. Somebody must have hit it or done something and it went off the slides. You will have to remove the shift, the ash tray unit and after that you will have acces to the cd changer. I will post the pictures as soon as I get home cuz I'm at work... Don't worry you won't have to pay a penny

CD Changer Housing Door Simple Fix
Hi,
Loads of similar issues but few solutions other than to either remove the fuse or change the unit.
I bought a 2003 W211 Estate a few weeks ago and had the same 'not opening' issue, until today. I could hear the motor working but no visible action.
The repair in my case was free, needed only a TT20 Torx and took less than 20 minutes:
- Shifter to Drive
- remove ashtray
- remove ashtray housing
- remove gearshift surround
- remove two black CD changer housing screws (TT20), disconnect cables and remove unit
- turn unit over and remove two silver open/close motor screws (TT20)
Now, the winner:
- look at arm that connects gear on motor to Changer unit. in my case, there is a locator that was out of position, probably a failsafe to prevent greater more costly damage.
- remove and refit the locator then reassemble and reinstall in the car.
Problem solved!

I don't have a CD changer door problem or any other issues, but I am interested in knowing which update cd would give my nav the birdseye view. Can anyone help with that? Mine is a 2007 w211 E350.
