Seat Switch Button

Lost the head rest button on my driver side of my 06 E350 sedan. The stealership says I have to but the entire switch, can't buy the little gizmo that clips on from the interior.

Aside from the cost I will now have to spend a lot of time dismantling the interior door panel.

Are they kidding me?

Have you really really looked all over the floor near the seat tracks & near the console. If you're lucky, it flew off inward when you slammed the door shut.

Desperate times = desperate measures.

Under warranty? Usually a dealer will cover that.

Had that happen to my 05. Dealer replaced the entire switch at no charge.

Not in warranty, and I can't find the button. Oh well, I would like to have spent the time and money on detailing my ride but duty calls. I don't use that adjustment very much but I can't stand the thought of someone seeing this blemish, sigh.

Thanks guys

I'm not sure if it will fit yours, but i'm sure you could figgure out a way to make the little headrest button stay put on your switch if you dont use it that much.
Pop it of the switch unit and put it on yours ?
Just a thought.....

...and there's always the junk yard/recycler... just go there & pop off the missing button... no need for a switch.

Yesterday I was helping my passenger adjust the headrest, and the thing just broke off on me. It's not the cover fall off, but the actual thing broke off. I am suspecting when I took my car to car wash they broke it and just put it back, but it's almost impossible because any kind of vibration would make the switch fall off.. Anyways long story short, the dealer told me that's physical damage not covered under the warranty and I have to buy the whole switch. I am assuming the dealer is right because I don't see any issues on the board that the switch would just break off.. But do you think this should be covered under the warranty? Because I am thinking about just buy the switch and replace it myself.. How hard is to remove the door panel and put it back on to replace the switch?

Just replaced my driver’s side for the same reason mentioned above got it for $84.99 used from Potomac German Auto Mercedes (eBay Store) it was actually for a 2006 CLS, fit perfectly. I found it very easy to remove the door panel. I used the instructions found on my service DVD

Hey thanks a lot for the info! I found the seller on ebay, but all his switches are $140 used on the E class, while the CLS you mentioned was $199 for the same switch used. I am going to try to get a quote from the dealer to see how much for a new switch. The dealer quoted me $375 parts and labor to replace the switch which I think was alittle too much..

btw, I haven't spent the money on the service dvd yet. How long did it take you to remove the door panel? and how easy is to actually remove the seat switch and replace them?

Wow, prices have gone up! You can still go to the dealer and do a price comparison on parts only including shipping cost. As far as the install, I found it very easy, took me about 20 min, only because it was my first, and I was taking my time. If I had to do it again, 10min max. If you want, I can send you the instructions via email/PDF file. I also bought the plastic mounting wedge from the dealer specifically for taking apart door lining etc.

Mounting wedge Part# 110 589 03 59 00
