09 E350 - Need Help - How to make it louder ?
Hi, everyone I need a suggestion from people who already been there where I am standing right now. I want to make my e350 sound more like e500 without spending tons of money and crazy modifications. The original sound is very nice, but I want it to be a little bit louder.
On my previous ride Y-pipe did that job, but it's new car... I dont know her yet.
Please Help

To reiterate, I do not want to ruin your dreams. You CAN make a V-6 louder but you cannot make it sound like a V-8. There are several mods you can do to make a V-6 louder but it will never sound like a V-8.
Before I bought my E350 I was shopping for a BMW 545i. Those cars are amazing but the V-10 M5s are straight F-1 sounding. I wanted to make a car sound like that but it is impossible.
The cylinder difference makes a world of difference; V-6 to a V-8, and the V-8 to a V-10. While there are many tricks to make a car sound louder there is nothing that can ever make it sound like the real thing.

Wow..dont respond if you dont have any positive answers..there are always ways to work around..Hey bro I just removed my secondary cats and resonator like 4 days ago..I have an 07 sport e350...Well in sounds pretty ghetto..little too much raspy..I need to change to x or h pipe and see how that is but I dont know the difference...Gonna check on forum before I procede..But so far I heard just removing the resonator will have a deeper sound..

Uh, I never can understand this. The E350 isn't a sports car. Nor is it a sports sedan. It's a comfortable daily driver with nice amenities. It doesn't handle like a fast car, it doesn't go fast like a fast car, and it doesn't sound like a fast car. Because it isn't.
Oh, there is something called an AMG, btw. And I don't mean "AMG sport package."
You should see all the little old ladies driving E350s here in LA.
Come on, seriously, why buy the E350? Why not a 550i or M5? E63? C63? M3?
Sorry, but I really don't get it. It's like buying a fake watch and just pretending in your mind that it's the real thing.
The E350 is a great car. For what it was designed to be.

Wow you are negative...you should be helping your MB owners instead of downtalking rides...Anything is possible if you try..Cars are made to be modded regardless of their original state..

I would probably do the e55/63 mufflers (for improved look), remove secondaries and add x-pipe (for improved sound/performance). If funds allow do the e55/63 rear bumper. GL

Why not 550i, I put a lot of miles, gas economy is kinda important for me.

Basically it will never sound like a V8, not even close. If you want it loud that can be done. The 350 motor has a great sound for a V6, I believe it was Motor Trend that called it a "baby Ferrari howl" or something like that. I've heard exhaust on them and although they are impressive for a V6, and can get loud, exhaust on anything less than a V8 is usually not my thing (there are rare exceptions).
If you do go with an exhaust, I'd go with a reputable brand/design, as taking off resonaters, etc. end up sounding ghetto usually from what I've heard.
I've always loved loud, sporty cars, but I appreciate the smoothness and serenity of this Benz too much to ruin it

Anyway, listen, I'm not being negative. As I said, I just personally don't get it. But as a past and current owner of (genuine) performance cars, what I said is just being realistic and sincere.
The E350 is my daily driver and (as K-A puts it) that smoothness and serenity is what the car was really designed for.....get an AMG E55 (they are cheap now on the used market), and forget gas mileage on a performance car. It's just part of the territory.
Cheers, and enjoy your new 2009 E350.

Hey..well something to consider..I just was reading forums and realized..the clk350 cls350 and slk350 all have similiar engine types..Which is great because it lets you see what others have set up with same engine..I heard one guys car with a clk that kept his resonator and cats and just removed his exhaust mufflers and just replaced with tips..It sounded pretty freakn sick..deep and rumbly...not raspy..Im checkn out some other setups ill keep u posted..again i removed my cats and resonator and it sounds like complete garbage so i need a soultuion fast..Ill keep u posted
