Tire pressure questions (E500 owners) 245/45-17 tires
I had the staggered set up (2006 sport package w/ 18's), but am going the same 245/45-17 's all around on 17x8" stock "fat five" wheels. Michelin PS2's are the tires.
My neighbor's E350 with the same tires (245/45-17) says 28F/30R to 100 mph and 29F/33R for 100+. He has the 6 cyl, though. I'm concerned that it should be a bit higher. It sure does ride nicer, though.
Can someone with 245/45/17 tires from the factory on their E500 please post the tire pressure figures from his/her fuel filler flap?

Which tyres did you actually have? 245 at the front and wider at the rear?
It should actually be 245/45/17 all round if you want to have the correct tyre dimension (was it a spelling error at your message, the title talks about 245/45/17 tyres).

My neighbor's car has the same tires and wheels, but it's a 6cyl. I was wondering if the V8 needed additional PSI due to the weight of the engine (28 psi up front seemed pretty low)

That would be nice, wouldn't it?
My door sticker for my car shows a staggered fitment, thus the wrong PSI for what I'm asking.
Above, someone has been kind enough to post their pressures for an E500 with 4matic and the 245/45-17 size. This is close enough, but if someone has a "non-4matic" E500 with the "non-staggered" wheels as OEM could post their pressures from the door label, that would be great.
Thanks all.

John and Benz'O, great info!
That's exactly what I was looking for.
I guess the E500 4matic needs a little more pressure due to the added weight of the AWD components.

Sorry for chiming in late on this one- I went from stock fat 5 17" to the AMG
staggered 18". Could you please advise what is stated on your door sill for
the recommeded pressure for the 18" staggered?
Thanks!

From the door sil:
245/40R18 28 PSI
265/35R18 33 PSI
From the gas cap flap, it's added:
Over 100 mph is 29 front and 35 rear.

E 500 4matic, MINI John Cooper Works
Tire pressure suggested by MB is pretty interesting - when you talk to the tire guys they always want to put more air in the tire - I have added a compromise and find it pretty good as it seems to have helped handling and tire wear both - the comfort goes down a bit as the ride isn't so soft but I don't mind that as I keep mine on sport 2 setting all the time anyway so it's quite stiff already -
I carry 32 front and 36 rear and rarely if ever have 4 in the car for long trips - at highway speeds the handling is great at those pressure -
