2006 Mercedes Benz E500 4matic
Before i buy support haha (04 e500 4matic)

Currently i am trying to purchase an e500 and want to spend around 17 grand on it. I have been daily driving my 99 LS1 Camaro which has gotten alittle rough in the freezing cold and when it snows im S.o.l (rwd + 425 whp = death) Anyways both my parents drive benzos (08 ML350, 08 C350 ) and i know ihave to have the v8 its just me. So i stumbled upon the e500 and love it. I was just looking for some encouragement and perhaps acknowledgment that 66k miles does not spell doom. I found the car at a dealer near me a prestige luxury dealer, its an 04 with 66k on it , air suspension , pana roof, navi, 4matic, perfect for me. I got them down to 16,500.

What do you guys think.

Great cars ... and the 4matic is a huge plus in both rain and snow! Can't say anything negative about the car. I have the '06 so maybe someone with an '04 can say what the issues were (if any) on the MY.

66K miles on a Camaro is WAY different than 66K miles on the M113 5.0 engine. Properly maintained, 250K miles is not out of the question out of one these things. But therein lies the question? How well has it been maintained? The price seems cheap enough to take a shot on it. But keep in mind that owning a W211 E500 without an extended warranty is not for the feint of heart. You're probably used to maintenance costs on your F-Body Chevy, so be ready for sticker shock on your MB. Oil changes are $125.00, complete brake jobs are $700-800, air strut replacement is a grand, so just be aware.

That said, you'd be hard pressed to find a more complete car on the road for 17 grand.

Good luck with it and make sure to post some pics!

And that is FOR ONLY ONE! Although the cost of services and repairs can be costly, the price is low enough and the car seems to be in good enough shape to go for it. Maybe spending a couple of c notes on taking it to a MB dealer for a look over would be worth it, they can probably also give you some of the maintenance history on it.

Benz-o-rama ...

250K miles better NOT be out of the question for the 113's!!! I currently have 270K miles on my 1999 Volvo S80 and the engine is still running just fine .. so is the exhaust though the tranny was replaced at 200K ...

Have the car ckd. by MB. and if all is well, go for it!! It may not be 425 ponies, but the V8 is amazing!! U will not be disappointed.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Congrats and welcome!! With 425 ponies in your Camaro, I'm curious, what is your opinion on the MB V-8?

Well iwasnt expecting it to be raw power like my camaro , with that in mind, i must say its a very impressive motor. I really like it alot, its very refined and for a heavy car it gets up and goes very well. I have no complaints at all i love it.
