I looked everywhere around the armrest area and couldn't find where to plug the dongle in... am I missing something?

You have to remove the false bottom in the armrest, it is covered by a plastic piece with a small rubber mat on it, it has a finger hole in it for removal. It is in the very bottom of the armrest. Once it is removed you will notice several wires and plugs, find the plug that matches the plug on your dongle and plug it in. Some people I've heard say the bluetooth works immediately without version coding but most will tell you version coding b y a dealer is necessary to enable the CP211 to recognize a telephone has been installed.
Good Luck!

Yup, I got that far but weren't able to yank it up, I didn't want to break the plastic.... is there a way to remove it?

Put your finger in the hole and "gently" bend the plastic piece up in the middle. There are two little bumps in the front that the plastic bottom has to slip over. Once over the these bumps, pull upward towards the front and this piece should come out with no problem.

It's compatible only with the following models:
2003-2004 E Class (W211)
2004 S Class (W220)
2004 CL Class (W215)
If you have the V-60 based hands-free system installed, I believe what you need is Part # B67875856. This adapter will dock in the armrest cradle in place of a V-60 phone, and recognize your Bluetooth phone once installed.
Check out the following on eBay:

If you're asking about the "Puck with Tail", unfortunately not.

Can someone who has a 03-04 with the BT puck and tail installed take a pic and post it here for me?
I'd like to see where it is installed, and where it is connected. I was under the impression that it was installed under the false floor of the larger compartment in the arm rest, but my dealer installed it in the smaller "clam shell" compartment and plugged it into the underside of the "clam shell" compartment.
Thanks!

I'm one of them ! I had no idea before purchasing that my '05 E500 would be so much more costly to add bluetooth than an '04 is.
Someone has to come up with a cost-effective solution for adding bluetooth capabilities to an '05+ E-Class... Something as simple as bluetooth shouldn't cost 10% of the car's value !

You're very welcome.
Install the Puck with Tail yourself (15 minutes), then take vehicle to MB dealer for Version Coding. I have the Version Coding instructions, let me know if you need them. You'd be surprised how many MB dealers have NO IDEA this can be done for an 03-04 W211; then again, they'd probably rather charge you $2,000 to get Bluetooth .

Hello, I have an 04 e500 and would like to purchase the item, you have suggested, from ebay. So I would only have to plug it in and take the car to get it version coded? Could you send me the version coding instructions. I really have to do something about this since I got a summons for no hands free device a couple of days ago.
Thank You
Nick

I just wanted to add my confirmation that iPhone 3G is fully functional and compatible with part # 67875855. I am also reporting/confirming that iPhone 3GS is 100% compatable.
