You should be able to get the "puck with tail" option to add Bluetooth. If you already have a V60 phone installed, you can get the V60 Bluetooth puck.

Your car is the same (more or less) as my '03..

I had no phone option. I added the 'puck with tail' and have been enjoying hands free bluetooth for the last year. Works great.

You will have to get 'version coded' at your local MB dealer. Only takes about 30 mins.

My dealer really didnt know anything about any of this, I was the first.

$433.00 for the puck with tail. Part number B67875855. The car will have to be version coded to recognize the telephone or it will not work. I had one installed in my '03 E320 and it works great and it sure beats the $2500.00 it would cost to have the complete Integrated Telephone installed.

Check to make sure that you have power going to the plug you are connecting it to. The connector should just plug in and there should be power to it. I do not believe the power has to be programmed in to the CP211 and plug. If after you check for power, and it's not there, check your fuses and if all else fails, seek help from your local MB dealer.
The one I installed, plugged in, the blue light came on, but the car had to be version coded at the dealer to recognize a telephone.
Included is the link from Wireless 4 MB. Research this site and maybe you can find an answer.

Mercedes list price has been reduced to $280.00 and I have them wholesale at $245.00 now.

Now they do it? I purchased mine for $388.00, which I thought was pretty good considering the quoted price was $433.00. I even felt like a big shot throwing the technician a tip for programming.
Well, that goes to learn ya!

PS:Thanks for the info.

Shouldn't it be 20% off? That should make it $224 :P..

Still pretty steep... I think low $100 would be a good price. Bluetooth headsets are pennies now a day.

Where do you get the idea that wholesale is 20% off?
Mercedes suggested wholesale is not a fixed percentage off but rather thier own convoluted formula.
As far as your opinion of the price being steep how can you compare an item that integrates all the features of a built in phone without actually having a phone installed in the car to a bluetooth headset? Does the headset allow you to dial through the Comand? Does it mute the radio? No comparison!!

The information I gave was simply to let those who are considering doing this the knowledge that the price has come down and as the "puck with tail" has been a hot topic on this board I thought that it would be a valuable piece of information.

For what this device does, is still worth the original price of $433.00. It integrates perfectly into the MB and is completely compatible with the command and CP211. Be thankful you own an 03-04 E Class because if you owned an 05 or newer this device would not be available for your car. You would have to install the complete integrated phone system, then purchase the puck and the puck adapter seperately. Total cost of that mess is just about $3000.00. installed. Before I installed this device, I researched all possible avenues to install bluetooth. By far, this was the best, maybe a couple dollars high, but well worth it, especially if you do a lot of communicating while in the car.

I appreciate the info and it's very helpful. For some 400 is worth the price to pay "if you got the cash"

Obvious this is a luxury option that I can't afford but I'm still trying to squeeze my belt and try to get this added.

BTW: At my buddy's shop, he get 20% off, he orders all my parts for me when I do repairs etc...

Will this puck and tail allow dialing and phone book information on the COMAND screen as well as steering wheel controls?

EVERYTHING will work seamlessly with your vehicle.

Auto mute of music when dialing/receiving a call, caller ID on COMAND and instrument cluster, phonebook search through steering wheel controls, etc.

On a side note, can someone tell me how to remove the dome light assembly?

To make a long story short; I once complained about the COMAND's sound, the way it cuts bass and introduces more mid-range freq's at higher volume, and someone who heard my cries stated that it may be possible that the tel-aid mic monitors the sound so when it hears the volume high it adjusts accordingly. Well I couldn't figure out how to get the dome light assembly off without breaking anything so I gently tugged the wires for the mic and pulled out the connector.

Now that I have the BT puck on the way, I assume that mic needs to be plugged in for this system to function correctly. I've searched the forum and can't find any details about how to remove things without breaking them. Thanks!

NM, figured it out.

Yes, with most Bluetooth modules it is, but not all. Some GSM-based phones use SMS with the Hybrid cradles, and the Verizon V710 will work with SMS.
