Actually, Mercedes used to have that feature in the 1990's (at least in the S-Class). Not sure why they got rid of it though...

Are you sure W140 has rear folding seat? My 72 years old folks still driving a W140-L, w/ electronic control rear seat, but NOT folding seat.

In the post you quoted me, I was referring to was about the rear door child locks, not the folding seat...
