Some F&%Ker keyed my car...
I'm guessing I'll need entire door repainted?
Would appreciate any advice on:
1) How to ensure the work is done properly?
2) How / What to look for in body shop?
3) What I should expect to pay?
Thanks - I steaming but have to get over it and get my car back into shape...
. On a side note, would insurance cover the cost of the paint job assuming its more than your deductible.I'm guessing I'll need entire door repainted?

I was parked at a restaurant, away from other cars (as I normally do cause I don't trust the a-holes who swing their doors open into other cars).
Came out at around 7:30p to find a deep single gouge down the driver's door, did not hit the quarter panel or passenger's door. Went down to the primer, don't think the metal.
The somewhat good news is that is covered under insurance ($100 deductible) and body shop will prep, paint, clear coat and blend into adjacent areas.
Still not happy about it....
Its being violated and i still think about it 9 yrs later every time i get in to drive it.
Me? I'd look for a shop that is certified to work on the Audi Space Frame as they generally have high standards.
Make sure that the bodyshop that you use has some experience with MBZ so they'll understand how stuff comes apart and goes back together.
I had some work done on my previous GTI a while back - repainting a scratch on the mirror. I knew the mirror housing just popped off, but the bodyshop ended up pulling the inside panel. They did a great job though...

I had parked my car at a bar in woodland hills on saturday. Had a friend of ours pick me and my friend up to go to a hookah lounge in sherman oaks (since we couldn't drive
). Get back around 1:00 AM. While going to my car, there is a black nissan altima parked next to me and the female passenger is yelling directions to someone else. Low and behold, her door is open and resting on my back door handle. I'm just staring at her waiting for her to move and her b/f is looking at me with this "dawg, you wanna fight?" look. Finally, when she sees me she goes in her car without saying a word. I look, luckily no scratches or anything. People are just fu*king a*sholes. She was lucky she was a girl. Wait, now that I think about it, I am all about equal punishment (since everyone is all about equal rights)

I hate it when people don't respect others property, especially my own, it really doesn't take that much thought or consideration. Especially when you put in the hard hours, earn your keep and buy yourself a treat, only for some inconsiderate f*** to just run his key upside it or smack their door against it.
