How to enable compass view in 2009 E 350

Hi,
I've read on these forums that this can be done on the previous models by entering the engineering mode on the COMMAND. But haven't been able to find any info on the 2009 model. Is it even possible on these models.

Search comes up with too many threads and couldn't find one with the code for 2009 models.

Thanks

U know, I'm surprised the instrument cluster doesn't have a compass built in. WTF, it can be helpful sometimes.

In 2009 models, if you change your MFD to "Navigation" mode, you'll see compass readings as you drive (if your GPS isn't guiding you to a destination... in which case you'll see direction cues to your destination). I guess MB engineers figured that was enough...

Like so many things in the manual, I guess this doesn't apply to the US model.

I prefer the compass on the MFD, just wanted to check if this option was available as well.

Oh that sucks...

I guess the cheapest option would be to buy a magnetic compass at your nearest autoparts store, Walmart, or Target, and stick it on your dash? It may not look pretty, but it works...

That's what I did in my previous C240... I called it my "$5 GPS"!

Previous attachment was from MBUSA COMAND (not operating) manual. You can choose navigation menu in the MFD with COMAND on and route guidance off the direction of travel will appear.
