Yeah I might just do it, it's been a while since I've done a "Mod". Actually, the car came modified with all the AMG and suspension, etc. stuff from the factory (321 AMG Package), so I just paid a pretty penny extra to lock it down, but remembering how much money I used to spend modding cars, I figured this way would be MUCH cheaper and I'd get genuine high quality parts.

BTW, if you could provide a Link from who you bought it from that would be awesome, if not no worries, if I remember correctly it was pretty easy to find on E-Bay (man, I have never used E-Bay before and have been so proud of that fact!! Hah).

you are correct what i was trying to say is tint does not work backwards no one has 50+ tint it would be way too light, when you go to the tint shop you ask them for 5%, 20%, 30% no one goes to install 80% tint that's what i was getting at 50% would barely be noticeable

"Section 375 (12-a) of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law does not allow a windshield or front side windows that are dark. The windshield and front side windows cannot block more than 30% of the light. Seventy percent or more of the light from the outside must pass through the window. This law also applies to the rear window unless the vehicle has outside rear-view mirrors on both sides. The mirrors must give the driver a full and clear view behind the vehicle."

...the law does not allow more than 70% on the windshield - the OP was running 50% though.

BTW, many manufacturers produce 50, 60 and 70% tint - most ceramic tint falls in the 40-60% range.

I have no desire to argue with you - I just want to assure that folks are aware of the law - thanks for clarifying that for NY, but be aware that this not hold true for other states...

BkE5, the vanity plate is not a good look imo, it has that hood-rich vibe to it and it will get your whip keyed because a lot of people will envy you for your car and they will scratch it just to make you feel bad. Enjoy the car but attracting unwanted attention is not a good idea. Every time I see someone in the NYC area with a vanity plate that makes a statement that they're better than everyone else I automatically think they're douches. But hey, it's your car and your call. I can bet that by the age of 28 that plate won't be on your car anymore.

always will be haters out there that envy Benz owners. You can be successful but don't have to "brag" it on the vanity plates. I wouldn't be surprised if your car gets vandalized because someone is "hating" on your success. Just the way human nature is.

Your Right...In My Eyes(The 1 Person that really matters here to me) its nice n i like it so i did it...what u think is what you think...evryone i hang with has decent cars so for 1 im not surrounded by "haters".But If Its "Human Nature" then it will get F***ed up with or with out the plate....i seen a E55 n his plates said.."M5 LOL" so call all the M5 owners n warn them ok?!? I pay insurance for a reason if my car gets "keyed" geico will get a call...simple i dont live my life in fear of others....**** they can burn the sh*t...its only gonna make me get this CLS55 i want..lol

Nice car. To reiterate others' points: I'm not a fan of the "in your face" statement on the plate. It's not my taste. I would say that it is "ok" though for someone else only if they (read: you) are able to laugh about it and do not take either the plate or their perception of sucess to seriously. Keep it on your car if you must, but also keep your tongue firmly in your cheek.

Did you consider a matte black for the grille instead of a gloss black? Maybe it's just the picture, but it looks really shiny, especially on the hood vents.

Only suggestions would be to replace the side markers with clear or painted side markers for a cleaner look and then putting some legal tint on the windows.

It's too bad Honda RUINED the new TL. It looks like complete and utter gimmicky-"futuristic"-y garbage. The last one (your old one) is a truly nice, clean and relatively timeless design, as I think it looks more relevant right now than even the brand new model.

While my personal opinion (I don't understand why anyone wants to take a perfectly nice MB and tart it up to look like something that came out of "fast and furious" is beyond me) may sound negative, the OP wanted opinions.

Perhaps that is the problem when cars start reaching the end of a model cycle - the older ones reach a pricepoint where the boy racers can afford them.

The E series is a near luxury car that was never intended by the manufacturer to be dropped to the weeds, blinged out by dubs and tinted like there is no tomorrow - that niche is the domain of inner city Escalades and 20 year old Civics.

If the OP wants to do that - fine - just don't expose the rest of the driving public to unsafe and illegal lighting.

Better yet come tell your opinion to some of the benzes rimmed up and tinted here... Not e... Forget our cars... AMG's (s, sl, cls, cl) the highest of benz... And trust me... People pay a bit more attention to them even if they are "harming the other drivers" mabe it's a city thing? Or everyone on here must be nuts to do what we do idk u pick
