The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I think they only left it out on the C because someone just forgot about it last minute.
There was huge anticipation for that car and I think they did very well with it, but cmon, the E is just so much better.
The w212's handling will probably be a trillion times better than the w211s though haha.

New suspension would be an added bonus but a lot more costly.
Once you start messing around with the suspension (sways, etc.) you'll move away from the ride that was intended by MB. And you have to be really careful with suspension mods, because you can easily upset the dynamics of the car. It takes a LOT of testing and trial and error to find the sweet spot. Trust me, I've been doing it with Porsche for decades.
In the end, one has to be ready for some sort of compromise between comfort and a stiffer chassis. I would never trade my Porsche's ride for my MB's ride. Nor would I trade my MB's ride for my Porsche's ride. You simply cannot have both at the same time.
In addition, the MB's are too heavy to use as a canyon carver. This is where the lighter C63 fits the bill much better (p.s., ever drive the C63 with performance pkg? That stiffer suspension will rupture your kidneys on LA's crappy streets.) There is nothing you can do about the weight dynamics. The M3 is a better handling car than the M5 by a long shot.
MB could make some minor changes and they have with the W212. A case in point, my E63 does handle a lot better than my previous E350 and the steering is much more precise. But how far they will go depends on the amount of compromise.

That's my 100% honest opinion and I'm sure other people feel the same way.
But I didn't really mean to imply that it would keep the ride quality, it would definitely hurt it. But I am a person that would sacrifice it for the car to look a little bit better and perform a little more accurately.
I need to lower it though as I am putting some nice big wheels on, and I don't want it to look like a 4WD, but this is just me haha

Thanks for the in-depth reply, I'm an avid E39 fan, the best BMW ever made!
But as of right now, ride quality cannot be compromised under any circumstances. I'll stick with my tint, AMG wheels and other non-ride compromising mods right now.
Anyways, your plate will make you easier to spot around the hood, I'll wave if I'll see you around. Car looks great btw, enjoy!
